As webby says. It took a long time to make the descision and all the forum were involved in debating it. There has been a lot of agro with fly by night sellers. So it was decided that the sales limits (posts count) would be an indication of someone getting involved with in the forum.
Lets be honest, getting involved in general chat can raise 25 posts with out breakeing a sweat. 2 nights like that and you have 50 posts enabling ou to post a car for sale.
250 posts for parts was after quite some hassle with payments and parts. If you look in the sale sections I think there is sill a list of unresolved sales. So because of this it was decided that the post count would act as good indicator.
I for agree one with the Admin, they own and run the site, and on thier behalf we dont want to see it abused.
After spending time on the forum and geting a feel for it, I would then hope that members understand the post count rules. Of course in time they may change. . .Only time will tell.
