Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: SAFE mode CCRT 2008
« on: 31 December 2008, 18:12:21 »
Thank you for that, I shall give it go in the morning. Completely knacked at the moment following yesterdays flight back to Qatar. If anyones interested it is possible to carry a CCRT 2008 in a suitcase on a flight.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / SAFE mode CCRT 2008
« on: 31 December 2008, 17:39:31 »
Picked up my replacement CCRT 2008 and plugged it into my Omega today. Unfortunately I get a SAFE message which comes on and off in between the normal display. There is no sound though, tried a cassette as well.

I have the radio code which is 7269 and the serial number which is GM020811065346. There was no option to input the code however.

Tried holding down the AS button, but did nothing. Does this mean it needs Tech 2 decoding?

Many thanks.

Is it possible to upgrade the ordinary type fog lights to xenon ones as a straight swap on the facelift?

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: CCRT CD player front flap
« on: 10 December 2008, 17:38:19 »
Thank you, that would be great. Incidentally I had a closer look at the flap and there appear to be two small tabs on the opening flap and two small tabs on the plastic receiving part. It looks like these tabs prevent the flap from fully shutting. Just wondering whether these tabs need to be filed down.

thats an idea. Shame though as this one is in a better condition, other than the flap not shutting. Is it fairly easy to remove the cover?

Thanks

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / CCRT CD player front flap
« on: 06 December 2008, 16:53:45 »
Just got back to the UK to pick up a replacement CCRT 2008. Is the CD player door flap mechanically operated? Because at the moment it is stuck open. It moves but just wont snap shut. I don't know whether it has to have power connected to it. Also ther is no magazine in it.

Thanks

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / user guide for CCRT 2008
« on: 08 December 2008, 13:46:23 »
I know a copy of the user guide for the CCRT 2008 was uploaded here, however, I cannot locate it. Any chance of it being uploaded again please?

Many thanks

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Telephone handset
« on: 08 December 2008, 11:34:14 »
Thank you. Do you have to remove the glovebox to get to it? Or can you find the socket by sorting of feeling around for it? I would go and check but my car is in Qatar, whilst I'm here in the UK.

With the CCRT 2008 you can have a telephone handset which has a multiplug on the end. Where does this plug in to make it work? It's not the ehad unit is it?

It sounds as though you have a handbook in the glovebox for a different stereo. Don`t quite see the problem here?

 :-/

However, here is a quick fix.

1: Open Glovebox
2: Locate manual that covers the radio that is not fitted to your car.
3: Remove said manual and offer to someone who can make use of it.
4: Close glovebox

Follow those instructions, and not only will your problem have gone away, but from what I can make out from your original comments, you will be left with the correct working car pass for your stereo.

 ;D ;D ;D

Thank you for your comments.  :y But thats no way to talk to a potential customer.  ;D ;D ;D

The reason why I was getting so paranoid is becasue I have a couple of issues with my existing CCRT 2008, i.e no light and CD jammed. I have purchased a replacement from ebay which hopefully I can pick up in December, when I am back in the country. But then it occured to me that the CCRT 2008 might have not been the original and therefore I might expereince similar problems again.

But obviously the CCRT 2008 must be the original as there is a built in microphone at the courtesy light.

So thanks for putting my mind at rest anyway, enough said and matter closed.  8-)

I hope I don't get booked for timewasting.  :-[ :-[ :-[

My car Pass only has one radio code on and it works with my current radio the CCRT 2008. So surely this has to be the original one. Please let it be.  :-?

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Radio codes and car pass
« on: 21 September 2008, 18:27:09 »
I retrieved my car pass details from vauxhall over the summer which contains my radio code. This radio code matches the code on the CCRT 2008 unit in the car. Its just that in my car I found a manual for another unit the CAR 2004 which someone has hand written the code on.

I just wanted to check that the CCRT 2008 will be the original unit because the radio code matches the one on the car pass. Are these units interchangeable?

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Weak battery, possibly.
« on: 07 September 2008, 16:59:52 »
What are the signs of a weak battery?

On mine when I turn the ignition the needles move down slightly and then back up. Is this a sign that the battery might be going?

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Can't tell if fog lights are on.

There are definately marking for two fog light tell tails in the dash, either side of the speedometer. It looks like someone has replaced the headlamp switch, so perhaps that is what is needed.
