so what is it i need to do with these wires then? any that i gotta change round again or should it be working anyway? as at the moment it doesnt stay on after i turn the key back to 0

I would really suggest to live with it then, as the risk of flattening the battery by messing about is too great on the Omega. Stereo was designed to be listened to whilst driving I`m afraid, not for listening to whilst parked up waiting for those too lazy to walk.
