Charging light??

As driving home to night only with the lights on can see the charging light come on dimly then go off then com on again is the alternator on its way out or the bat??? thanks

im in the middle of this one my self, replaced alternator battery seems good im thinking instument panel(clocks im in the middle of checking circuts)

ok mate let us know as got another job on as water return pie blown replaced it and now hater dont work. ::)

Sounds more like alternator thats starting to fail to me.

Rusty - I've had a couple of batteries go, but at neither stage did the light begin to come on.

Alternator more likely than battery.

Probably got an air lock - did you bleed with heater controls set to hot?

forgot to say. Check connections at battery and alternator. Also volts across batt with engine running and essentials on. think it should be almost 14v.

diodes in the regulator on the way out mate  :y
it won't get any better so if you remove the alternator and get the serial number, you should be able to get a new one from your local auto electrician or motor factors. ( not halfrauds or vx )  :y
last one i bought cost me about a tenner  :y
easy anough to sort one the alternator is on the floor  :y

got heater sorted now, sealent think from head shot in heater blowed back water other way all came out, nice and hot now  ;D ;D

found problem with the charging light it was the dash plug, the pin was worn and bent so put back and now the light dont come on.  :) :) :D
