Omega General Help / Re: V6 Manual gearbox query
« on: 21 May 2014, 21:53:38 »
Checking the ratios, the V6 1st will be 3.95. That is even worse than the Type 9 3.65 :'( :'(.

But the diff ratio should be 3.9. So with the Redtop and some revs, ignore 1st and acceleration should be pretty good ;D ;D

Good luck in finding a Type 9 in anything like useable condition these days.  ;D

I would go Omega box and make the gearing a bit longer in the diff.

What are the diff ratios that are available for the Omega?

I like the type 9 but not the standard ratios. 1st is total crap. I havnt compared with the Omega box yet. I have also got a Quaife straight cut box with different ratios, but that already has another home!

I would have to buy a type 9. I own an Omega box, so that is free!!! :y :y

an original 2.0 manual box will have a better gear ratio for your car..

Depends what car it's going into, though. ;)

Well spotted Kevin. Thinking of using a red top and the Omega box in a Locost! Should be fun ;D ;D ;D

Does anyone know if the V6 manual gearbox from a facelift car will mate up to a Vauxhall 2 litre 16 valve engine?  :y :y

Omega General Help / 3.2 MV6 Warning light
« on: 29 December 2013, 17:44:03 »
I have just got a warning light up on the dash. According to the handbook it is 'control indicator for engine electronics'.

Everything seems to be working OK, and certainly not in limp mode!

Any ideas what might cause this please?

Omega General Help / Leather Trim

I have an MV6 with the dark grey leather trim. Does anyone know of a company that does some correctly coloured dye or something to touch up a bit of wear?  Ta

Just to answer the questions, the Irmscher back bumper is for the twin outlet exhaust, ie both sides. The exhaust is available as well.

I need a facelift back bumper for a '52 plate estate. Prefer silver but can paint. Located West Yorks.

I might be tempted to exchange for my Irmscher back bumper + cash.

Thanks

Thanks guys, I pulled the head lining down and got interior light out, found the loom and pushed and pulled it through.

Not obvious! Removed screws. The wire is very tight and will not pull out!
