Omega General Help / Re: Temperature gauge not working!
« on: 03 April 2013, 20:40:27 »
OK, full story on this now. I have just bought this car, and now have it home. He has had the temp sender replaced and still no gauge.

But, when driving it, the gauge occasionally comes up to about 80, stays there a little while and drops down to nothing again. Everything else seems to be OK.

Lazy thermostat???

Oh by the way, 3.2 MV6 Estate!!

WANTED 2003, (maybe 2002), 2.6 V6 Estate. Auto preferred, reasonable miles, some work not objected to but must be reflected in the price!! Even blown engine, as mine is good. Just the rest that is falling apart.   :( :( Colin

« on: 15 August 2012, 19:04:13 »
So I am still looking for another estate, '03 diesel or V6. :-\ :-\

Can anybody help? Apparently I have to have hundreds of messages before I can put a wanted ad on.

Not sure why that is :( :( :(

Just had a look on Wikepedia. That says the Y25DTI engine was fitted '01 - '03. And it was a straight 6?

Is that not true?

General Car Chat / V6 or Diesel?
« on: 14 July 2012, 23:28:00 »
I have a 2.5 V6 Estate, and it is getting a bit tired!

So I am looking for an '03 to replace it.

If I go for a diesel, what are the shortfalls likely to be? Will it tow the same weight? What will the fuel consumption be?

Will it cost more than a V6? Has anyone got an '03 to sell??

Thanks

Colin

Just an update. Not got around to looking at it yet, as it has been fine all week. But today lights on again. :-\ :-\
Could this fault cause the power steering to tighten up. Or is that yet another problem. It only does it when the warning lights come on. :'( :'( :'(

Thanks for that.
And by the way, the fault has gone again!!! It has happened a couple of times in the last week, but seems to clear itself. So maybe a duff connection?

« on: 02 May 2012, 21:17:07 »
My car is facelift 2.5V6 petrol. Speedo stops working and the ABS and tractuion control warning lights come on.

Everything else (seems) to work OK.

Any idea where to look?

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Facelift dash ligts out
« on: 19 March 2012, 22:11:50 »
I assume that was disconnect the two multiplugs??? ;D

Eventually got the clips released and plugs out. But I have to say the cluster is a bloody tight fit!!

Changed bulbs for some used ones I had in stock. All worked perfect.

Until I left to come home, when one went out!!!! I should have bought new ones.

Oh well, I'll do it all again tomorrow :'( :'(

Followed instructions, did not see anything about disconnecting the wiring. Do you have to do that before pulling the dash out? Or do you have to get the plug out first?
