« on: 29 August 2015, 23:57:15 »
We used to get a regular supply of surples tomatoes, home grown by our elderly neighbour, so full of flavour, far more than in any supermarket tomato........ :y :y

Sadly he passed away last year, and his wife is unable to keep up with everything they did............ :( :(

Thanks for the advice. :y

I've seen a Golf on eBay which I like so I might buy it. It might be cheaper to buy it than cancel the policy. ;D

I've sold my Omega but hope to get another one in the near future.
???

Female logic, don't even go there  :o

The events are mutually exclusive. If I buy a Golf I can also buy an Omega. ;D

 ;) ;) :y

.....and I just had to explain to her about Makems and Takems. Sheesh...... ::)

If you had to explain it I bet she is a Mackem, a lot of in-breading in that land; SWMBO is also from there, whilst I am a Tackem.............. :D :D

They do work as I've tested them and my results were bang on.

Despite my Omega having 4.5 litres of GM red the tester showed pure water. No ball movement at all. :-\

That's a bugger.... :( How about asking your wife's, better looking sister, to have a look, she may inspire some movement............... :y :y

Incidently, Mike, the units it my Elites are CR2006. I think this is a much better idea than sticking the unit in the boot !!!!!!
When you press for the CD on the head unit, it shows on the display 'Loading CD1' etc.....then plays and displays accordingly. You press the relevant forward or back buttons to select the track, or the number buttons for CD1, 2 3 or 4.
Simplicity in itself. :y
If I had to moan...it would be that the CD changer cartridge won't come out with the gear lever in park. Not enough room

Not a problem in the Honda, it auto loads / ejects whilst being in a similar place.... :y

Not exactly sure what you mean, Mike, but I read it as...I put four discs in the changer in the unit, and I can then pick which disc to play, and can forward each disc to a tune I want...or go back to play it again. Is this what you mean ?

Yes, that is what I mean............. :y

Oh...what a relief. I really thought I am going to make myself look a right plonker.
But...on the note of where it is...my elites have four changer units, and we often get a cd won't play, or what we put in is crap, so swmbo often changes the discs.
I have to be honest and ask, is that not one stupid place to put a cd changer ???

I had an 'aftermarket' one in our first Mig, put it under the passenger seat, it took 8 discs but I could move these around from the head unit, as I can in my Honda, can that really not be done on an Elite?............ :o

When used they get more abuse, especially being an advanced training car, in as much as you have to prove you can drive it like you stole it & still be safe  ::) ::)

I have just been through this with ACAS you termination period goes on your pay frequency. SO if you are paid weekly you or employer give each other a weeks notice if you are paid monthly you give a month. IF it went to tribunal because your contract state 2-3 mnths (as mine did) it would be ruled as that length of time is unreasonable and could never be enforced
But surely you knew that when you read the contract... ::)

Yes, plenty of us on 3 months, but paid monthly, I'm sure.

The way around it is to get a job with a competitor. ;D

Agreed, they will let you go straight away, even potentially as soon as they read you resignation, clear you desk, usually 'supervised'............ :y

« on: 17 August 2015, 01:21:26 »
Is it normal practice to grind welds to tidy them up or should the weld be left as it is then painted  :-\ Obviously my welds look a bit crap at the minute  ::) but with a flick of the angle grinder they look better  :-X

I would say yes, but only if the weld is good enough to be cleaned up using a grinder, you wouldn't want to be grinding away all the weld........... ;)
