As title, apologising in advance.
You will have to excuse my ignorance on this, which will probably make me look a proper idiot....
However...I was reading a post in the audio section, and it was worded...'a CCRT head unit and 6 cd player in the boot.'
Am I reading this right !!!! ....do you have to load 6 CD's in the boot before you go, and then you are stuck with them till you stop ???

444 minutes of audio not enough... ::)

Joking aside, yup... cd changer, select cds for the journey and off you go... no chaning discs on the move or faffing around with playlists on your gaypod :y

Actually worked ok... We drove to southern Italy and didn't have to listen to the same track twice. Just change when stopped :y

Oh...what a relief. I really thought I am going to make myself look a right plonker.
But...on the note of where it is...my elites have four changer units, and we often get a cd won't play, or what we put in is crap, so swmbo often changes the discs.
I have to be honest and ask, is that not one stupid place to put a cd changer ???

I had an 'aftermarket' one in our first Mig, put it under the passenger seat, it took 8 discs but I could move these around from the head unit, as I can in my Honda, can that really not be done on an Elite?............ :o

Only with an optional CDC... the idea was that the four disc changer built into the head unit saved you having to go to the boot to change cartridges...

I have two of theses...

in mine, with scope for a third one, all controlled from the head unit :y

Not exactly sure what you mean, Mike, but I read it as...I put four discs in the changer in the unit, and I can then pick which disc to play, and can forward each disc to a tune I want...or go back to play it again. Is this what you mean ?

Is that kind of thing easy to install ? Will it plug straight into the loom at the back cubic hole  :-\

Incidently, Mike, the units it my Elites are CR2006. I think this is a much better idea than sticking the unit in the boot !!!!!!
When you press for the CD on the head unit, it shows on the display 'Loading CD1' etc.....then plays and displays accordingly. You press the relevant forward or back buttons to select the track, or the number buttons for CD1, 2 3 or 4.
Simplicity in itself. :y
If I had to moan...it would be that the CD changer cartridge won't come out with the gear lever in park. Not enough room

Not a problem in the Honda, it auto loads / ejects whilst being in a similar place.... :y

You can get control panels, but work best with a suitable head unit... the factory head units can be modfified to accept audio input, but the control side of things could be a struggle:-\

Think the factory supplied units were made by Blaupunkt, but not sure the facelifts ever had the boot changer option :-\

Its funny how peoples tastes vary. I have the 6 CD changer in the back of the Estate, and the 4 CD unit in the cabin of the Elite. As I never drive more than two hours without stopping, I much prefer the changer out of the way in the back. No faffing about then looking for discs in the car. Much safer IMHO. :y
