panel glued the body alloy side on the Austin , only had enough  clamps to do one side at a time and its 4 hours wait before removing them . Thats a big job out of the way and will soon be able to remove body and finish weld stuff, fit brake and fuel lines and make exhaust before refitting body.

Well to thank me for the new rear brake pads the daily decided to lose fourth gear at 05:30 this morning when joining the M42 so returned home (discovering first gear had also been misplaced somewhere along the way) and swapped cars.

Had a quick check of codes tonight and it has P1700 on the engine ECU which would be the gearbox ECU shitting itself and crying to the engine ECU to put the Christmas lights on in the hope the carbon lifeform will lesson the right foot. Gearbox ECU has P0730 Gear ratio incorrect. Cleared the codes and had a quick blast round with no codes returning. I will check the fluid level at the weekend then see how it goes but pretty sure this box is toast now..... Hopefully I will find a replacement daily soon.... Hopefully LOL

Yesterday took the V70 to Elvington to take part in the second attempt at a world record-first attempt was at Bruntingthorpe in 2019[I took part in that with the V70 too].Will be a few weeks to see if Guinness confirm or deny the record. All proceeds from the attempt were for charity.

Nothing to the car, but I stripped down the Yamaha YZ engine, carb and reeds, rebuilt it again (the joys of a simple two stroke), flushed out the tank, put fresh fuel mix in it and kicked the kick start until it sprang to life. I'd forgotten what a responsive engine it is, and anyone that's ridden one will relate to this. It's running as sweet as a nut now.  :y
I've done it up to sell but having experienced the fun factor of it again, I want to keep it.  ;D  The trouble being, I have a teenage riding head attached to an old body, which is why I stopped riding road bikes.  ::)

I still miss the adrenaline of riding road bikes, and would still love another bike, but I know from experience that it would end painfully.  ;D  The cruel irony is, when I was younger I got knocked off my motorbike and ended up with a pinned left leg, broken left arm and damaged left thigh. Now I'm older I'm suffering from joint ache ........ on my RIGHT leg, my RIGHT arm and my RIGHT thigh.  ;D
