Hi have omega 3.2 elite having problems with my speedo not working abs tc and car with spanner light on but no codes.
However sometimes the warning lights go off and speedo works for a time then packs up for a bit.been to garage said it was my speed sensor in the autobox replaced that with new genuine part and still the same any ideas?

It's probably a crack in the ABS ring on one wheel. They are common. It's less common, but it could be the ABS sensor.

I can't remember which wheel runs the speedo on the Omega, but someone will tell you soon. Start there first.

I would have thought it was more likely the ABS module itself, classic symptoms of it failing.

Yes sounds more like the ABS pump ..they have a tendency for a small wire to break inside or make poor contact and send the electronics crazy.

Think if the sensor on the hub had cracked it would be faulty constantly not intermittently .

Can be repaired by several places but requires unit removing and sending away at cost of approx. £150..try BBS Reman in Rochester Kent.Failing that you may get lucky and find a 2nd hand unit with same part numbers but for the effort etc in removing and refitting I would opt for refurb with warranty

I've a few in my stash if you are able to get you part number, not an easy task given the location of the ecu

use a phone to take a picture of the data plate on the bottom of the unit. Only mild swearing required :y

Use a diagnostic tool to trace the cause of the issue before throwing parts at it. More often than not it is the ABS ECU, but not always.
When ot happened to my previous omega it was a rear wheel speed sensor.
