Welcome to the forum!   :y
As you will already know there is a wealth of good information on here.   :y
I've moved on from the barge but still frequent this place oddly enough......one day I'll get kicked off!  :-[
I'm close by working in the grey city during the week but home is at the other end of the A96. :D
There are still a few barges floating around this city, so you're not alone.
If I see you going about I'll give you a flash!

Take a drive around ABZ, o how the mighty are falling.

Really?!?
I work and live in Aberdeen during the week, and what you suggest should be the case, but I'm not seeing it!  :-\
There are lots around here who's jobs are at great risk, but properties prices are still rising, high value vehicle manufacturers are still building fancy new outlets, so its no better or worse than 2 years ago.

As for the SNP, I wish my felLow countrymen would wake up and see them for what they are......a bunch of lying self indulgent f*&kers!
The last vote was supposed to be a once in a lifetime deal, and yet here we are within 2 years of that day, and they're at it again!

I'd rather stay as part of the UK, please!!!!  ;)

I'd say that your first thought is probably correct.   :y
It will be a wee bit of the spring, but maybe not enough to change the ride height.
I'd get under it and have a feel at the ends of the springs where they sit in the mounts.
You may even find the broken bit still sitting there!   :o

Its been made pretty easy for us 'northerners' now-a-days, where you merely have to sniff an alcoholic drink to be not far off the limit.
These days it really is a case of 'if you've had any, then don't get behind the wheel'.

If I lived up your way, I would make sure I put them on the wife's car, at least. It would probably take a couple of scary moments before I gave in though.

SWMBO has a 4x4 and doesn't feel the need for them.  ;)

I have a 100 mile journey for Aberdeen for the start of the working week, and my journey is earlier than most snow plough drivers, so winters have come in handy a few times!   :y

No need for winter tyres in this country, and there never has been.

Driver care and attention is all that is required. :)

I shall buy a set of winter tyres the day I buy a car/lorry/bus/tractor that runs on derv.

Exactly not needed in our country, driver care & attention which unfortunately a lot of drivers lack, is all that is needed. Waste of money in my opinion.

Surely that depends on where about in the country you stay!   ::)

I use a set of winter steel wheels which are now on there 3rd winter outing.
I must admit, they have been a great deterrent to the worst of winter weather since I bought them.   :o
Much more sure footed in the cold frost roads, far superior to summer's.

Each to their own though, and if you don't think they're worth it that's fine!

420 pony's through the front wheels!    :o
That should be fun, on anything but a bone dry surface.  ::)

I would have thought that now he has the piece of paper stating he has passed his test, that he now has a full license, even though he doesn't now have the actual license in his hand!

Not if you ask me, nicely!  :P
