Thanks to those who've been in touch or replied to my posts. My car is now sold.

2
Tunnie,
I seem to recall a similar post from yourself on another thread about where best to sell... thanks for the feedback.

Is there really no-one interested in my car ?

Doesn't say much for the Omega second hand market if true.

Please PM me if you're in 2 minds.

My car is still for sale. Anybody out there interested in buying ?
Pictures as per my previous posts and summary details here…
Colour: Silver
Registered 10/9/03
Vauxhall 1st owner then 1 person before me
I bought it on 3/3/07 @ c. 29,056 miles.
Current mileage 103,700 although still used infrequently so will rise a little.
I’ve bought an MPV and so unfortunately I now need to sell.
Runs great, no knocks or bangs.  Gearbox changes smoothly & Sport/Snow modes work as they should.
No tow bar so never worked hard.
Never been smoked in.
Original (I assume) First Aid/Emergency kit
I’m an Advanced Driver so stick to the limits, and get 32+ mpg on motorway runs.
Full Service History: First 6 at Vauxhall Main Dealers & the rest with the same independent (ex. Vauxhall) mechanic.

Next MOT due Sept 10th 2016
Only Vauxhall parts ever fitted to the best of my knowledge
Radio/Cassette/CD player CCR2006 with Bose Custom speakers – all works fine although I’ve never used the CD player as I connect my iPhone through the Cassette player
Velour interior
Bluetooth Mobile Handsfree car kit fitted (Nokia CK-1W) which interrupts & plays through the stereo’s speakers. Comes with user manuals
2 keys
Heated seats, drivers with 3 position memories, mirrors & rear window work fine
Sun roof, electric windows & headlamp washers works fine
Has luggage guard
Air con is cool.
Will come with all paperwork (incl. MOT certificates back to 2006), Owners manual, Quick Reference Guide, Audio manual, Service book, receipts, original 2003 dealer brochure (edition 2) which has a wealth of information in it, even though it’s not pristine.
Vauxhall Locking wheel nuts
Spare tyre used on 3 occasions only.
Parts
14/9/07 OSF Central Locking Motor (Vauxhall) with receipt
29/8/08 OSF Door check strap (Vauxhall) with receipt
10/9/10 Heater Control Valve (Vauxhall) with receipt
7/1/11 Battery
23/8/11 New Front Discs & Pads
23/8/11 New Rear shock absorbers
25/11/13 Centre & Rear exhaust
20/6/15 New (budget) front tyre due to recent puncture
30/9/15 New Cambelt (@ 103,700 miles)
The rear tyres are nearing replacement time, but they are above the tread depth indicators

What’s wrong with it ?
Some age related scratches.
Wheels have a few scuff marks and the lacquer is peeling in places
Power Sounder removed as the 2 small batteries were end of life – as per the suggestion on the Omega Forum. I couldn’t find the replacement batteries so I’ve not re-fitted as yet.  Parts will go with the car.
Parking sensors don’t work (hence the slight ding on the rear bumper !)
External temperature gauge doesn’t work
Front Fog lights don’t work – I have second hand parts & plan to fix them before selling
Climate Control temperature sensor doesn’t work – I understand it’ll be the hedgehog but haven’t got round to replacing it yet.  It’s been like this for c. 12 months and it’s not a hardship.

I’ve tried selling at £1,500, and so will now reduce to £1,300, but will of course listen to offers.  I want it to go to a good home with someone who’ll continue to look after it. I’ve tried to be as honest as I can about the car.  If you want further pictures or have any questions, please do get in touch.

And before anyone says anything, yes it‘s Silver !

Phil

Cars for Sale & wanted / Re: For Sale: 2003 2.6 Elite Estate Silver
« on: 02 October 2015, 20:39:09 »
seems a bit expensive compared to dan's in the sale section, maybe that why it hasn't sold? much sought after and rare colour though :)
Sold once at the asking price, but the sale fell through. Unfortunately I can't help the colour of my car-perhaps I should offer a free respray to the buyers spec.  ;)
My price is an asking price and as stated on multiple occasions is open to negotiation.

So, my car is still for sale and has just had a new cambelt fitted.

I've also replaced the Water Coolant expansion tank with a second hand unit, and given the car a good clean.

Anyone out there interested ?

General Discussion Area / Re: Sky wifi
« on: 30 September 2015, 23:12:46 »
I can 100% guarantee that my VM fibre optic does not come to my house (FTTH) at all - it is co-ax that is installed...

I had Sky wi-fi up until my internet hungry boys wanted to use the internet all at once and the Sky system couldn't cope with the demand. Even on the top spec fastest they could do... at best it was 16Mb at about 3 in the morning.... I had no gripes or argument with Sky except for the demand put upon the system where it simply couldn't cope..

I also had BT Internet for a short while, it worked fine except for the wireless would interfere with my radio equipment (Radio Ham)... I kept telling them it is interfering with my other radios which it wasn;t supposed to do, but they just wouldn't have it/be told that it wasn't supposed to interfere... all they kept on doing was putting me through to India where they kept telling me to move my antennas...!! which just aint possible... They also told me to switch off the WiFi - but all it did was switch off the connectivity and not the actual WiFi signal, thus it still interfered with my radio's... eventually I go in touch with OFCOM and they even said that they have had numerous complaints about the same problem....

I changed to VM 152Mb 'Big Daddy' of which my average speed is connected at 162 Mb.... It does cost a lot but my lads are worth it for them to be able to stream and download without much if any lag when they are playing online games etc...
VM use an 'HFC' network (Hybrid Fibre Coax) - Fibre to the box in the street then Coax (TV/Internet) & Copper (voice) to the house.  Openreach are rolling our FTTP (FTTH) to new builds & certain areas as part of the NGA/BDUK/SEP rollout - this is available to any Service Provider.  Sky & Talk Talk have just opened up an FTTP trial in York & Kingston have quite a bit in Hull too.  These mostly supply in excess of 300Mbit/s downstream.

I bought it on 3/3/07 @ c. 29,056 miles.
This is my 3rd omega and I love them.  I sought this car out in ‘07 as I wanted to buy one of the last Elite estates of the line.  I found it on Auto Trader through their useful saved search facility.
Current mileage 103,608 although I’m using it on occasions, so it‘ll rise a little until sold.
I’ve bowed to pressure from the wife and bought an MPV and so unfortunately I now need to sell.
Runs great, no knocks or bangs.  Gearbox changes smoothly & Sport/Snow modes work as they should.

Climate Control doesn’t work – I understand it’ll be the hedgehog but haven’t got round to replacing it yet.  It’s been like this for c. 9 months and I have to say it’s not a hardship.

Overall it’s a pretty good car that I’d rather not sell.  It always starts first time and I have no hesitation driving it long journeys – we’ve been on many holidays to central & southern France without any concerns.
It does have the odd gremlin creeping in, but I think for it’s age it’s been well looked after and in good condition for a 12 year old car.
Having said that I do need to sell and would like £1,500, but will of course listen to offers.
I want it to go to a good home with someone who’ll continue to look after it. I’ve tried to be as honest as I can about the car, but if you want other pictures or have further questions, please do get in touch.
Thanks,
Phil

It seemed sensible to me to point to my old advert on this site rather than cut & paste everything in again... I hadn't appreciated that adverts got locked.

I also didn't link anywhere, especially not an auction site.

Please see all the details in my previous thread below...

I've just had the car MOT'd.
