It's hard not to think that something bad may be around the corner, though. And logic says the more dosh you have saved, the more resilient you are.

It's bad enough at the moment! What did you have in mind? ;)

More changes without any notifications.  Allthough they said they have sent notification via snail mail.
......

Have they got your email address, as coincidentally Santander sent my parents an email explaining the changes this evening (21st January).  :y

I too have found Santander (and all the other banks and building societies I have a few pennies in) have been good at posting me letters of changes, as well as emailing me.  I suspect it is a legal requirement they have to do.

So, as YZ says, if you're not getting these, its worth checking your details with them are up to date.

Don't mention Santander to me  >:(. I used to have an account with them years ago in Mallorca. I fell out with the so called manager so I dumped them. Never bank with you ever again I said  >:(. Forward a few years I opened an offshore bank account in IOM with I think NatWest with an interest of 8% per annum. Lovely! Forward another few years and guess who took over NW? bloody Santander! My current account earns 0.0%  :(. Thieving barstewards.  >:( >:(

I have an account with 'Ford money'.......this is due to end very shortly.

I managed 1.75% when I joined.

This account is no longer available to new customers.

If you don't need instant access to your savings, you could do worse than carefully selected mutual funds.

January last year my SIPP was £32k, March saw it drop to £25k (incidentally about what it started at when I started it in 2019) and currently sitting at £42k, and I haven't added a penny to it*. Which is nice 8)

*Obviously I need to address this sooner rather than later.
