Help needed with fuel filler flap
« on: 20 August 2007, 18:09:45 »

Hello peeps, have a problem with locking mechanism on the fuel filler flap. SWMBO went to fill up and couldn't open it. Solenoid is shot, it needs replacing. How do you remove the solenoid ( Black box) have tried but can't work out how it comes out, anybody know the secret ????

Not removed one of these, but had a quick look in the Haynes manual
for you.

Open the side trim panel in the boot.
Remove the wiring plug, and there are 2 easily accessible bolts
to remove which allows the the solenoid to be removed complete
with its mounting bracket.

Had a look and couldn't see any bolts, will have another look.

Thanks for the prompt reply   :y

Just had a quick look at mine and you can't miss them.

Fold down the rear right hand panel after undoing the 2
quick release fasteners.

The 2 crosshead bolts are horizontal, mounted on the flange
directly in front of the servo motor.
