Pre-facelift ECC
« on: 31 July 2012, 17:05:17 »

Hi.  Can someone with a Pre F/L check if their ECC does this - I might just have missed this previously:-

All working normally*, left & right temperatures linked / set the same (as more usual for me). Stop and switch off ignition; both temps go to " - - " for 1/2 to 1 second - then nothing as switched off.

Is it telling me something (lowish pres?) or do they do that sir ?

* Not ever so cold last week.

IIRC there is something in the book about this, possibly detecting a fault?

Hi John,

I'm not a million miles from you and have a spare ECC module. I'd be happy to post it over to you to see if it makes any difference.

Cheers - Rob

Unlikely. It is more likely to be a sensor fault, or an actuator fault. Sometimes on the PFL unit, it can be an old stored code that upsets it, in which case, whilst a new ECU may clear this, its overkill for a simple code reset

Not too much :)  - mine worked/works (I thought).

Thanks Jamie, so a read the codes job - which readers can do this for the ECC ?

Rob, hold fire for me, I'll see what it is asking for first - hopefully a bit of TLC !
