Manual gear stick assembly
« on: 18 November 2020, 09:47:04 »

Hi guys, I bought another Omega but it has broken safety "reverse ring" on manual stick. As far as I know, this can't be fixed so the solution is to replace entire manual stick from top to the bottom linkage.

Does the job include only 4 bolts accessible from under the + the linkage or is it more to the job?

Thanks in advance

4 x 10 mm bolts from the underside and while under there pop the clip off one side of the linkage, slide out the pin and the lever should be removable from inside of the car

As there is an additional lockout at the gearbox, you could remove the mechanism off the gear stick. That can be either a temporary or permanent fix depending on how you look at things :y

I believe it is already removed because I can get to reverse but it really isn't that smooth like with the ring lifted. A bit of force is needed and I'm afraid it will brake.
And thank you both for quick response :y
I'd prefer to replace it if possible.
