Hydrogen is a flash in the pan.  :)

Only one way to fix the issue then.

Turn the radio up a few clicks  ;)

As it's only worth about thruppence halfpenny, that may well be the best option.  :-X

Inflation? ::)

The Mk4 Mondeo with a transit engine are becoming increasingly rare.  :)

Sorry. My bad. I thought we were talking about the Astra owned by the geriatric scouser. :)

I would have thought that pink Astras are quite rare as well!   8)                                                             Especially in Barnsley!  ;D

Mine is getting cosmetically scruffy now. Recent frost got under the lacquer on the bonnet and front of the roof and caused a lot of peel.
I still love driving it though and dont plan on ever getting rid of it.
Partially inspired by the number of people on here who regret no longer having one.
They are just a great old thing to drive, and minus some of the unnecessary complications of new cars.
When I got my first one - around 18 years ago - I soon had buyers remorse, as it had a most of the standard problems of a neglected Omega.
I searched the internet for answers and found OOF (which had just started up) and soon got the car back to full health, including replacing the autobox.
The rest, as they say, is history.
Downside is I have had to suffer STEMO for all that time.  ;D
Shut it, Paddy  ;D
I'm cosmetically fùcked, but I've got a few miles left in me yet :)

Does Mrs STEMO concur?  ???    :P                                                                                  ;D

He's sitting in Gods waiting room now. Can't be long until the inevitable happens. >:D

I think he's going deaf.  :-\  :D

Alternatively, should you wish to invest a few minutes of your valuable time, this doesn't look particularly challenging.

I'd probably be inclined to do this and potentially not bother fitting a replacement cable, if you're not planning on keeping the car that long, just leave all the covers off so you can pop the bonnet with a screwdriver when you need to.  :y

Thanks Jim, that's a good find!  :y

I've found a £10.99 repair kit where you feed a new stainless steel cable into the sleeve, rather than replace the whole thing which is a bit of a ball ache apparently.  :)

The Mondeo is sounding a bit rough, so went to pop the bonnet earlier and found the bonnet release lever was all loose and floppy.  Apparently the cables are prone to corrosion at the bonnet catch end and snap.  :-\

Bummer.  ::)

Good advice from Mick.

I had an Ideal boiler go wrong a few years ago and the letting agencies plumber phoned me up and told me I needed a new boiler.  £1400.

I phoned my usual plumber for a 2nd opinion, and he told me to phone Ideal as they do a fixed price repair service.  It was £300 (I think) for what ever needed doing and they came out the same day.  :y

Turned out it needed a new gas valve and expansion vessel which was a 2 man job (?) and so it cost £500. The tenant didn't give me the paperwork ( ::) ), but I think they replaced some other bits and bobs as well.  :y

Parts for your Dad's boiler seem to be readily available, so if the gas guy claims otherwise and that he's trying sell your Dad a new boiler, find someone else.  ;)

Gas Valve

PCB

Oops sorry, just re read your post and seen that you already know the parts are available.  ::)
