hi. going to scrapyard at weekend anyway but just in case has anyone got a cdc3 lying around please, either as is or part of a ccr2006 etc . thankyou.

hi all
my head unit was fine at playing cd's with no issues . i took the cartridge into the house to replace the cd's as id been listening to the same ones for quite a while !
a week later i put the cartridge back in and it does the usual ......check cd4,,check cd3 etc and you can hear it loading up etc.
after which it says NO CD
ive tried it a few times. all proper cd's the right way up and tried the previous cd's too .it ejects fine and inserts fine . doesnt show open or magazine messages . radio and cassette working fine .
any ideas please ?

just out of curiosity there are not many scrapyards nowadays that let you walk around
there are two good ones in altham accrington that let you wander at your free will and leave you to it . based west yorkshire it's still a good hour treck thou
does anyone know if the 4 in carlton barnsley are still there and let you in ?

hi. all .the jetronic efi system fitted to many 1983-1986 vauxhalls such as senators and carlton 2.2's have a variable idle air valve controlled by its own seperate ecu.these ecu's often fail and cause issues. looking inside them pretty much reveals nothing of note to suspect and close examination of solder joints and replacing capacitors doesnt solve anything.
swapping the ecu with a known working one makes everything ok again

do we have any experts on these ( or a known link to any sites that do ?)
ecu repair facilities dont reply (obviously as they want the work !)

hi .long shot i know but just before i actually make some has anyone got any of the catalytic converter shields please. for a 2.6/3.2 .not the ones on the body but the ones that are fitted on the cats themselves. many thanks. mine are still present but getting crumbly now and jubilee clipped !

after a few years still looking for mudflaps.
i bought 2 a couple of years ago that were supposed to be a pair nos. ( they were ! a pair of rh side ones !) and now theres another brand new front one on ebay and lo and behold its front rh side too !.
so
looking for a new or very good 'pair' of lh ones if anyone has any ?

hi all.
im looking for the plastic round bobbin prefilter that sits on the end of the fuel pickup pipe .its for a carlton but im sure a similar unit would be found on similar gm cars of the era. possibly senator,manta,monza ,astra maybee ?
just pushes onto the end of the 12mm od pipe.

hi.a question to any car radio engineers please.i hope someone can help.
i have a blaupunkt san diego dj head unit (radio,cassette).this is the type that has various other connotations such as milano rcr127,st malo rcm127,etc .fitted with the 8638308752 pcb from circa mid/late 90's. ? the one with the removable front,4x35w ,2 egg shaped 4 button controls to the left.
hope that has identified the unit !
i have a few of these in various cars and am having an issue with one of them.
radio crystal clear,remote cd changer perfect .all 4 amp channels perfect.
issue is with very distorted (gritty sounding) cassette on both channels. i have exchanged cassette decks from other unit. problem not on deck.
i have also swapped the 8 pin op amp in the top right corner of the board. voltage to this chip vcc is same on both units 8.54v.. also virtually all the electrolytics. still the problem remains.

hi.
just to confirm. if fuse 15 is ok and everything on the car works fine but i have no fuel,temp guage,no tach and no speedo then this points to a bad rear cluster plug or faulty cluster itself.
also i have a spare 2.2 cluster.will this fit and work just for elimination purposes ( into a 2.6) or is it different in any major ways.

Hi all.
As well as my car interests I have always had an interest /hobby in vintage hifi and tv and most recently progressed into plasma tv's.
What I was wondering is has anyone any reccommendations as to a good online forum similar to ours but for my hobby.
Heard of badcaps and a few others but just thought you may know of any I've not .something uk preferably and catering from valve tv's up to plasma ( hi-fi too)
Any ideas
