And yet the French take something like 6 times as many migrants in as Britain!

I was reading about a migrant who was processed in Greece but moved on ( to Britain) as although he was accepted there by the Greek authorities, they would never allow him to bring his family. There should be bio metric cards ( for everyone including homegrown Brits) and details shared by interpol. Before anyone complains, we live in 2025 not 1025.

So what?  ???

If they want to take illegal immigrants, that's for them, but they shouldn't look the other way and pass their problem on to us!  >:(

Macron has been cheerfully taking British taxpayers cash that our foolish governments have given him to stop the boats, and has just carried on looking the other way as the illegals break all kinds of French laws when they put to sea in the dinghies and part of his problem passes to us.  ::)

This is not the actions of a friend and ally, and the British government should be having a colossal row with him, not giving the prick a state visit!  >:(

Especially considering that the butcher who did it never bothered to tell the DVLA. So it's still down as a Datsun  8)

Technically it still is a Datsun, albeit with a different frock!  ;D

They used to call him ' Nasty Norm' back when Thatcher held the reins. >:D

I expect we all remember the massive hoo haa when he told the unemployed to get on your bike and find a job!  ;D

Norman Tebbit was a titan of British politics the likes of which we haven't seen since and it's likely we never will again. RIP.

Swapped the little shitbox for the day, for something with 650cc, two wheels and significantly quicker ;D

Did I fix that right?  ???  :)

The train companies often don't help, as parking at Chiltern stations is now a tenner a day, and Banbury station has closed it's drop off point to private vehicles, so anyone wanting to use the train from there now has to use a taxi if not in walking distance.  Fine for drop off is now £40.  So everyone drives to London now.

That's no way to run a railway!  ::)

Do the buses go to the station?  ???

Forum members will know I'm not the greatest fan of derv cars but I think old Tigger has done well here. :y

Incidentally what is the difference between a 330D and the 335D as they both share the same 3 litre straight six lump?

Good choice. :y

The 535d is a twin turbo (one small turbo and one large), whereas the 530d is a variable geometry single turbo.  :y

Incidentally, at one stage the 525d, the 530d, the 540d, and the 550d all used the 3.0d block. The 525d was a down tuned 3.0d.  :y

Probably performance overkill at Tigger's age. :)

Yes it will be a few years before I'm mature enough to handle the kind of cars you enjoy M'lud.  :)

530D and 535D. difference.

The price?

That could explain why Tigger went for the 530D.

Tight as a ducks arse... :D

Yup.  :)

The difference between the 530d and 535d is about 50bhp I believe.  :-\

Though i'm not a fan of light interiors, that Tig, looks very nice. :y
If you are prepared to put the effort in to keep a light leather interior clean, they always look really nice IMHO.

That's why I always opt for dark interiors ;D

I would have preferred a black interior, but I got to the stage where I just needed a car.  ::)

This one popped up on Autotrader on Thursday night and in the pics looked like it was parked on the drive of a very nice house (It was!), had under 100,000 miles, had FSH, was fairly local and was at a reasonable price. So I got the train to see it on Friday, bought it and carried on to Scotland.  :y

Too be honest when you're sat it it looking out of the windscreen, you don't notice the interior anyway.  :)

How's the ride Tig?  I found later 3 and 5 series a bit too hard, and caused some discomfort in my back (which is buggered in 2 places anyway, not helping)

Guessing not causing you any issues after a run back from Scotland?

It's certainly a harder firmer ride than my old Mondeo, but not uncomfortably so.  :y

I think my Mondeo was a taxi in it's former life and had a fat bastid sat in it for hours on end, as the driver's seat is like a favourite saggy old sofa!  ;D

Oil Level is shown on the Idrive and there is also a dipstick on the N57 engine - red on the N/S of the block at the rear.

Oh.. I assumed that the dipstick at the N/S rear is for the gearbox, as it dives towards the rear and the gearbox.  :-\

There's nothing in the manual about that dipstick either.  ::)

Ot probably only reads the oil level when cold. Once running/hot the level will be very different.

The iDrive only reads the oil level when the engine is running for some reason.  :-\

Maybe it actually reads the oil pressure and calculates the oil level from that?  ???
