I'm not sure how a short piece of tube with M18 threads justifies being called a 'kit', but here's a LINK.

Personally, I'd recommend against them.  The cannister type are less messy and work well when used correctly.

But, yes, as NickW says, the threaded tube is still available.

I'm guessing that these are OK for the 3.0 litre?

You could unscrew one from a 2.0l Cortina engine and use that. But ordering one from QED is far easier than finding a scrap pinto

I think that I have a leakage between canister and Block in my 2.6 V6. Is there a seal O-Ring or something. Would like to remove it and check. Is spin type somehow worse?

It's held on by a 27mm hollow bolt from memory.

When it left the factory there was a nub on the back of the case to prevent it from spinning when the cap is fitted to 2,400 NM.

Any hint of play and it will leak. And yes there's a seal behind it. :y

I've taken Nick W's advice, and ordered one from QED. :y

Thanks DG, yes loose perhaps, I removed it maybe more than 10 years ago to do something behind it. Oil cooler pipes or something. Do not remember what it was. Also those pipes can leak I think. And yes, cap not to be tightened too much and still it needs force to open.

How could it be worse? There's a rubber seal between the block and the filter, whether that's the cannister or a spin-on. The difference is the spin-on seal gets replaced every time you fit a new filter, and the cannister one doesn't although the one in the cap ought to be. Plus, the cannister clamping is easily reduced even if the cap is removed without damage(I know, that never happens if you live in a fantasy world) so is more likely to leak. And it's slightly messier to replace the cannister filter.

I like cannister type. I think adequate cleannes level when working in floor is easier achieved with that type. I change the filter after having removed left front wheel. If I have to change what is this QED?

It's a shop that sells the conversion piece.

Spin on filters are half the price of the cartridge ones and can be removed much more easily. By hand if fitted correctly.
