I had the Jovo's round a couple of weeks ago.  I guessed who they were as they walked up the road, but as I was working on the car, I couldn't avoid them.

So the silly, if somewhat attractive, bint with a decent pair of norks started telling me about their interpretation of the Bible, so I ran rings around everything she tried to say.  Poor bint went off in a bit of a huff, not very religious like ;D

She only even got the engagement she did from me because of her quite revealing frock....

For clarity, I have no issues with anyone's religious beliefs, and in some respects are slightly jealous of them.  But I don't need their beliefs rammed down my throat as fact  >:(.  That probably goes beyond religion as well.

This has been building up for some time:
Americanisms.

Since when did we start to swap out/scrap off things, instead of just swapping them?

Can we just go ahead( >:( >:( ) and execute anyone who insists on such things?

Please?

A lot of people on tv, some of whom you'd least expect it from, have started saying noo and Toosday instead of new and Tuesday. That's just two examples, there are more. I get irate, and then realise it's just the way the world has always worked. People watch hours of American tv and, like a chimpanzee, start to imitate.
The country I grew up in is already vastly different to the one I see now, so it may as well speak differently.

Americanisms.
A flick through what is on UK Freeview TV goes a long way to explain why "we" are picking up these americanisms.  And then there is Youtube and all its American made car fix videos, so independent garages in the UK will soon be know as The 'Shop

It spread ages ago - note that eGay started being known as The Bay by the UK thickos who just wanted to sound, errr, thick like a yank.

It's a little thing and another Americanism, but it really annoys me how using 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc on dates has been abandoned and now people just write 1 June 2023, 3 August 2023, 25 October 2023 etc.  ::)

You even hear people say things like its the One of June rather than the First of June.......  Dumb!  >:(

The Coronation is on the sixth of May, not the six of May!  :y

When we were away in the tin tent a few days ago we didn't even take the TV with us ,we're both fed up to the teeth with the total nonsense that's being classed as entertainment . Reading & Scrabble & walking the dog was far better.

It's the "alpha male" who seems to think the whole pub needs to know about his remarkably dull life, and adjusts the volume of his voice accordingly, who really gets to me. Every pub's got one. >:(
