Oh dear - EON Again
« on: 30 May 2023, 21:00:06 »

The fun begins

I had seperate smart meters fitted a while back, since then they have stopped communicateing.  3 times they have made appontments to change them, all appointments cancelled due to the fact I was billed seperately and not duel fuel billing.

To correct this I arranged to change to duel fuel billing, it was explained this could only be completed if the meters were read and the bills brought up to date.

So 1st May payment sent of £175.00 for electric.
9th May meters read
9th Elec in credit by       £ 92.72
       Gas in credit           £ 66.00
9th.  Combined balance  £333.72  :y
Added          £16.28 =   £350.00  :y

Electric smart meter fitted on 12th.  issue fitting Gas so still waiting to complete.

Credit balance of £350.00 12th AM, close of day was £500.32 in ARREARS.

Been billed again on 29th and am now £631.27 in ARREARS. (without any meter readings posted by EON.

I Think thier computer is having a hissy fit.  :-\ :-\

Bearing in mind I was in credit for both accounts this is just Mondays new accounts.

Anything labelled "smart" is usually the exact opposite in my experience and definitely best avoided.

Daily manual readings from the consumer units over the course of a week every quarter is usually enough to keep the supplier honest.

Our summary display was completely different to the actual usage, and Shell eventually wound it's neck in remotely. If you're on a fixed tariff, and your consumption doesn't vary much then the weekly totals shouldn't vary much either. So you can soon tell if the meter summary is taking the piss or not  ;)

I receive an email from Eon each month requesting the meter reading. I just type in the reading, hit submit and job done. Obviously it means that I have to get out of my chair to make a note of the reading but it’s a small sacrifice just once a month.
Smart electric meter doesn’t work in my house, they’ve tried and failed.  :)

The saga continures. :-\

Challenged them multiple time to re-asses the accounts.

Ended up with an email saying the account was checked and rechecked and correct. >:(

Spoke to them again and got a guy that could see they had screwed up,  He reveresed all the bills going back over a year putting me well over £2300 in credit as a result  :y

It now shows me having 2 electric accounts and 1 gas even though it was changeing from 2 single bills to 1 dual fuel account.

But the piss take is they put me on economy 7 on the meter change without telling me.

I was told it would take a month or 2 to sort.  So hopeing for a possitive result.

Seams that I was put on E7 :-X

Looking into the best tariff for me as I am a night owl and the nights are cold, Asked EON to do the sums and this is where the Smart Meters should be showing thier worth, sadly I am still waiting for the Gas Smarter Meter update (software or replacent) as it is not sending readings. :-X

I have accepted the current account balance, and the the bonus there is a dormant statement needs sorting, that will add me more credit. :y

Asked for compensation, Was offered £30  I asked for a different ammont, i now have £100 credit towards my fuels bills  :y
