Cars for Sale & wanted / Re: F/S 1998 2.5 CDX Estate Auto

It is that - I was very happy to hear it as they are closing my local DVLA office soon.
Final drop to £500.

It's now a performance engine with free estate fitted to it!

The population has nearly doubled since then apparently   :o

There is a popular theory that says the human race will become unsustainable and die out completely within the next 1-200 years.
There's a cheery thought for you...

Cavalier, Vectra, Astra, Zafira and Calibra all used variants on the same 2.0 16v engine but being front wheel drive they will have different engine mounts, sump pans, dipsticks and one or two other bits.
They can all be taken from the engine you take out of the Omega and fitted to the replacement.
It's a couple of hours of easy work to swap it all over - even easier if you have an engine stand.

It's on the original ECU so there's room for more gains yet.

Nuff said on this thread though - I have a for sale thread for the car so any chat about it can go there.

Sorry for the thread-jack   :P

TBH I havent rolling roaded it as yet.
The spec sheet from Swindon says 206BHP but I've fitted 3.2 manifolds and had it ported a bit since then.
My guess is about 220.

I have a Swindon racing V6 in mine - you can have that for £500 with the rest of the car still attached!  :y

The ad says it must be removed by 10th of June.
Might have to borrow a DeLorean to make that!

I have the cam locking tools and would be happy to assist in a belt change.
I have done mine twice so I know my way around it now lol.

Do you still have the old IR remotes from the car?
If so they will work just fine.

I use an IR ECU from a Vectra in my Carlton and it works fine - the Carlton key is way different.
I'd say as long as your key has the correct immob chip in it - which it does or it wouldn't start - then you should be fine.

Turn the ignition on and press the lock/unlock buttons and it should sync.

Just found out that a car can now be reclassified from disabled tax class without visiting the DVLA.
Just a trip to the post office now and it's done.  :y

Forgot to mention the tow bar with twin electrics and the line out converter for those who want to run an amp on the standard head unit.

Price dropped to £600 ONO.
Considering the work gone into the engine (and the pedigree) it's worth that for the engine alone!

I would say it's definitley worth checking the chain guides for wear.

I've got my eye on an 02 Vectra.
Boring as hell but cheaper to run.

Don't get me wrong - that's a very good price, and I'd take it if I needed more than just one or two bits.
I just think you'd move them on easier if split up.

Good luck with the sale fella.
