Yes the upper sump needs to come off.

77
Once the sump was off I had no problems with accessing any of the bolts.
I did try to remove the pickup having just removed the lower sump but that didnt work so the upper sump also came off, then it was easy.

8Nm is fine.
When I took mine off to fit it to another engine I was surprised at how tight the bolts weren't.
Refitting them at 8Nm felt right.

80
8Nm according to HJB  :y

Fitted a line out converter.
I can now wire my amp up to the VX head unit.   :D

Not too far then.  :y
Any idea of a price?

88
Me too.   :-\

Where abouts are you?
I could do with a new ECU box and lid if it's intact.

I use this one.  It's easy to use, lighter than most of it's size, lifts to full extension in 3 pumps and will usually go under a lowered car.

I'm pretty sure they can be got cheaper at costco.

That's very nice that, may have to invest in one of those too  :y.

I keep looking at that one myself. Trouble is, my Merc is 2300kg, although I don't intend lift it all up in the air in one go (or very often  ::) )
I have used it when servicing a BMW X5 and it lifted it easily. :y
