Not convinced at this stage that its not the aerial, but its something to try.

I am around tomorrow morning if you want to pop down and try swapping bits out to prove.

bit of a treck mate sorry

ill send this unit back and wait till the other one turns up and see what happens
if its still the same it might be something else
can't see what else it can be
everything works apart from getting satelites so if its not the airel it must be the unit

when the replacement one comes and its still the same ill arrange with you come over
if thats ok :y

WNPC (Willy Nilly Part Changing) is a poor approach to fixing a fault.

That's only when you're paying for the replacements.  It can be the quickest way to get going again if you've got a donor spare (or two).

I think Mutant's in a privileged position! ;)

Totaly disagree.......WNBC adds more unknows and you dont know that the part you are fitting works (even if it might have done when removed from say a donor car)....so you could end up with 2 iffy items in the system!

THE most important thing with fault finding is to locate and prove the fault before chnging anything.

WNBC should be left to the trade (because given the skill level they have thats all they are capable of these days)

part swopping cost's nothing
maybe a bit of fuel or postage and is maybe the cheapest way solve a problem to save going out and buying parts that are not needed

Ahhhh!

Have you definately made all the connections in the passenger kick panel?  3 power ones, and 4 signal connections.

yes it will - it checks the current levels when you do the set, and uses that value
