I want a replacement for the Delco 500 head unit (only unit!!) in the elite. Any adive on a plug and play device that will not harm my baby?

In the elite its a delco 500 I think. I need to remove it to change the walnut to graphite.

Would I be able to change the sound sytem between an elite and a cd? The one in the elite is vile... and the cd is better and has MP3. I belive that it is relitively new.
Are there any how to guides for radio changing... or any links?

Would like to change the dials (pref white) are there any such replacements? Or is it an aftermarket job? Are they easy to replace and how would I go about it ?

elite 3.0 manual.. the rear 'box' not sure what it is 
appears to be dripping a little oil. Has not dripped but noticed it when doing exhaust.
What is it? whats it leaking and any advice??

How is the best way to remove the wood trim from doors? (prefacelift elite) Do I have to remove all of the door panel? If so is there any wiring or electrics to look out for?
Been struggling with the father in law to remove a welded towbar and the facia to put MV6 one in, only to look at TB's guide on climate bulb renewal and have found out about the locking bar

What are the best replacements? Its for the elite. The right hand section I thinkl... its right facing car from the rear.
What is cost of part and are they a TC item? Or a suitable pattern ok?

Hi all. I had the estate in bits and need to try and remove the bolts that are stuck from the trottle body housing x3. (before I drill them out and re-tap)
I dont have much kit as it is at dads... and I am blocking the road a bit
Any ideas... tried some brute force.. haksaw blade... and a hammer... still not playing ball.

Cabbaged the threads last week of IACV and Throttle body. Now got some tap and dies.
Any advice before I got in with the black and decker?
What size re-bore? and any advice very welcome. Not used such bits before.

Could I change the cloudy yellow elite light units (96) for the nice white clear ones on the estate (98)?
Would this work, cause any probs? And how easy would it be for an easy Sunday afternoon type job

Omega General Help / Stall at idle... sometimes

Hi folks... Recently cleaned breathers throttle body. Have since re done making sure no mistakes... cannot see any. when idleing the car will give 200-800rpm, sometimes stalling if in park or neutral. Did not have this before. The EML comes on and goes off periodically too.
Cannot see any irregularities with what I have done, have re-checked, and got a vx mechanic to have a gander (for what its worth!) he could not see anything out of the ordinary either.
Any advice folks ??

Omega General Help / Severe uneaven tyre wear

On the front tyres the inner are down to the nylon, the outsides have very good tread. What should be considered in trying to minimise this as I am replacing all four this week.

Omega General Help / Cam belt change: NO again!

Still unable to change cam belt as do not have size wrench to even remove aux belt!!
So have removed iacv and doing breathers and throttle valve ect. Cant even do the cam cover gasket as still bleedin waiting for the parts!!
So... if I do breather ect... will they need to be done again (in next few days) when I (hopfully) do the cam cover gasket??
First ever job under a bonnet!!! And... throughly enjoying myslef!!

Right. cleaned breathers and throttle asembly today. wa going to do cam cover gasket but no sealant at stealers, or o-rings! so had to put old one back in situ.
1 bolt found missing from butterly thing that secures to block of engine! since re-assembling running lumpy, has stalled and EML light came on.
Advice folks??
