I have just found a new water pump that I bought for my old 2.0 Omega estate nearly 10 years ago.  Will it fit my 2.2 estate or do I have to buy another one?  The cam belt will soon be due for renewal and I always fit a new pump at the same time.

It will fit but how is it after 10 years on the shelf?

Thanks for the quick reply James.  It appears fine and the impeller turns smoothly, do they have a shelf life?  i thought it was lost forever but it was buried under some jukebox parts.  The garage is kept dry with a dehumidifier so there is never a problem with corrosion.

I don't actually know re shelf life, but speaking personally if it seems ok and hasn't been in a hostile environment, I'd give it a punt myself

Some "main dealer" car parts may well have been on the shelf 10 years plus - shouldn't be an issue with shelf life on your water pump
