Engine Cooling Fans
« on: 20 July 2009, 14:50:49 »

Can anyone advise me if both cooling fans should be running when the air con is running on my 2.2.  I've got the 1 engine cooling fan behind the radiator on the right and the air con/front fan on the left.

Both run all the time when the air con on, just checking if should only be the 1 running

Thanks  :)

Both the front fans should run at slow speed with 'aircon' on.
Engine fan should only be on when the 'temp' goes over half way on your gauge.

Thanks.  I've got the 2.2, only got 1 fan on the front on the left hand side.  The bigger fan(engine fan) is at the back of the rad on the right hand side.

I never switch the climate off, notice both the 1 front fan and the back engine fan run all the time as soon as I start the car., albiet at low speed.

Not sure if only the front fan should be running, and as you say, the rear fan should only come on when the engine gets hot.

All relays/fuse are fine.
