Certainly - fobs gone...pm to LD

I have sadly sold my Omega  :'(, hopefully these spares may help someone.

All these are facelift parts - pics available if you need to check.

Front fogs, both in good nick and with wiring and bulbs, can come with the grille part as well if you collect from S26 4TH, otherwise £10.00 the pair posted

Two key fobs, two button type, the led still lights up on one of them, other will at least need a battery, these do not have the blade section which you will need to buy separately, £5.00 the pair posted

Four way window control plus electric mirror control from driver's side door, bought by me from a forum member but then not needed so untested by me - as far as I know this unit is fine and was bought in the usual spirit of trust, in the same vein if this does not work for youI will refund costs less postage. £15.00 posted.

Please reply here or message me - thanks
Rick

Hi James - sorry to go off topic but I am looking for a driver's side front seatbelt in black 2002/2003 f/l estate, do you have anything?
Ideally would need a price posted to Sheffield.
Thanks
Rick

General Car Chat / Re: Abandoned Miggy,Should I take it..?
« on: 16 February 2012, 12:51:08 »
FWIW in my Hillman Imp days (let's say about 30 years ago..) my mate's GF told us about an Imp abandoned in a car park for several months...we turned up and started taking some bits off.
Shortly after we were duly arrested (young bobby) and carted off.
We were eventually charged with theft.
The case went to court but was dismissed after about 90 mins on the grounds of no case to answer. The get out being that we genuinely believed that the owner had abandoned her interest in the car.

I think they call this finding out the hard way - not recommended!

As an ex Hillman Imp owner I sometimes browse the ads - this one is certainly distinctive!

General Car Chat / Re: SOTW on Pistonheads
« on: 22 January 2012, 08:42:30 »
There was another Omega SOTW a while back IIRC. Thought the new one got a very fair reception, I read SOTW most weeks and seen some real slanging matches.
Very good posts from chrisgixer   :) :)  and also some positive posts about OOF - quite right too.

Omega General Help / Re: omega 2.5 diesel verses 2.2 diesel
« on: 18 January 2012, 12:42:02 »
I like my 2.2 but for towing a heavy van I suspect the 2.5 is the better option.
As stated 2.2 was never offered with auto (AFAIK), I often wondered if this is because the engine is already marginal for the car without losing horses to an auto?

Reports on OOF suggest the 2.5 auto is not all that economical - but doubtless will be nicer for towing.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Electric Cooling Fans

I can't help you much on interchangeability but if you post a wanted ad in the test section a helpful mod will probably be along to move it to the real wanted section.

Otherwise try searching for breaking omega on the dreaded fleabay, caveat emptor as always...

Can't help you much with technicalities of the wiring - I know for similar transplants I've read up elsewhere the wiring loom has been transferred wholesale including the ignition switch which gets hidden somewhere with the key permanently in place to keep the ECU happy.
But like I said don't take my word for this, there are a lot of people on here who can give you much better info'.
The purpose of my  post is to salute you and wish you luck with the conversion - hope you will give us some updates as you go along.

could it be you maybe left a interior light on without knowing??  :-[

I think the car will kill any interior lights left on by mistake - you could start pulling fuses for wherever you think the problem lies and see what you can eliminate that way?

Thanks Kevin

Fair comment all Kevin...I am thinking to swap my sender out and then adapt the old one for a pressure gauge to see what the true story is..

I have this same problem, actually a recurrence from some time last year.

Two points:
- It is generally acceptable to have flickering oil light at idle provided it clears immediately - I think the manual will confirm this
- I changed the oil pressure switch and the problem cleared

So I would not worry too much, meantime I must go and order a new switch..

Thanks kneepad - fortunately so far the anti freeze solution has held out so water is still moving around - the problem was (as I hoped) temporary seize up of the fan - we had a longish journey in very cold conditions then an overnight stop which showed -11C when I came to start again on Friday am.
I assume there was some ice melting at the end of the journey which trickled down and froze on the fan.
Guess I should also check drain points..
