Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Vision FM Stereo Modulator
« on: 18 November 2011, 13:52:33 »
Hi Guys

Sorry if this has been covered before. I have done searches, but not really come up with anything.

After reading a few threads on the subject I have just purchased a Vision FM modulator from DND Services.

Looks pretty straight forward install.

But I was looking for advice from any of you who have fitted one in their Omega's.

Where is the best place to position the device in the miggy and where is the best place to pick up the power.

I'm positioning my iphone right of the Steering wheel on a vent mount.

Any help or pic's would be very much appreciated.  :y

Thanks In Anticipation Gary.

Hi Guys

Wondered if someone could help me please.

I'm trying to put the code into my old CAR300 Radio.

I've done it plenty of times in the past no probs. But I'm struggling this time with the code.

On my Car Pass there appears to be two codes.

On line 2 next to Security Code a 4 digit number i.e. ****
and line 5 below I have a title Radio Type/Code or i.e. 0500 / ****

Can anyone tell me which I use as I've had 3 knockbacks already and I'm getting nervious. :o

Cheers
Just put the code in my dads astra a few mins ago, and the bit I’ve highlighted is the code which I used.

However, does you radio type say 0500? I thought it would say 0300 if its a CAR300 radio?? :-?

Thanks for the quick response.
Yes it does say 0500/****
That's concerning me to a little bit. But I've recoded it a few times in the dim and distant past :-/

Do you think this is wrong?

My pre-facelift S reg GLS does this, but never makes a sound about it, until someone says "do you know you have left your lights on" :-?

But my new Facelift, continuosly "ding ding dings" at me when I remove the key and open the door.

Equaly anoying as I spend 5 mins, wondering what I have done wrong :-[

Its like being back at school and the teacher is saying. "So what hav'nt we done"  :-/

They are 4 pin as standard by the way!

Are they? Have I bought a 4 pin I didnt need? :-/

37
No didnt use the by pass relay.

Connected direct to the loom that has a purpose made plug on it.

But you have to fit these 2 extra Vx relays

and I cant find the indicator relay? Anyone? :(

38
Hi Guys

Finally got my relays from Vx.

What a farce, 5 weeks, had to come from opel factory in Germany.

I know now that the sensor relay goes in the empty socket behind the glove box.

But where is the 3 pin indicator relay located, that I need to replace with the new 4 pin? (facelift)

Any help would be appreciated :y

39
Thanks Again Andy B :y

I'll ring Vx on that number

As for Halfords, you must have a better one than me. They looked at me, like I was from another planet at our local branch. ::)

As a mater of interest. You said the 4 pin relay was a bit noisy. Is that only when the trailer is hooked up or all the time?

O! - and were abouts is it positioned. The flasher I mean.
I've found the empty relay base behind the glove box for the sensor.

Thanks Again, for all your help.

Hi Guys

Tow Bar successfully fitted this weekend, you were right I didnt need the by pass relay.

Thanks for all your help  :y

Just need to get me a brake sensor and the 4 pin flasher relay.

Does anyone now a part number for these 2 items, so I can order with Vx. for the facelift.

41
Cheers Kevin. :y

Do you also think I don't need this Bypass Relay?

42
So there is no brake light wire at this round plug that has been put there for you to plug the 12N plug into?

Wonder who thought that one up. ::)

Thanks For all your help, by the way AndyB.

Much appreciated. :y

I expect it to be a long weekend ahead.

43
If I don't need this relay.

Do I just wire up the 12N plug to the plug in the boot.

Then replace indicator relay and fit the bulb in the dash? :-/

44
Okay I hope this works

This is the wiring diagram for The Universal 7 Way Bypass Relay Kit that arrived today :-/

I'm assuming I have a round plug in the spare wheel area. As it's an 03 Estate. I have to unload before I check.

Help :o

45
Thanks for the quick reply Andy B

Not sure yet on the plug. The Tow bar and single electrics socket arrived today. (I'm just trailer towing)

7 way relay promised for tomoz. So I'll photo it and post.

Towequipe say they have a help line. But I'm planning on fitting it at weekend and they are not available then. So I was trying to pre-ep a few questions for them. They have been very helpfull so far. But I'm sure they wont know the Omega like you guys.

Plus if I need anything from Vx, I could do with ordering it now.

Cheers :y
