OK, I know I should ahve bought the GM pads which apparently come with the pins and springs but I didn't. Anyway, the supplier is having real problems getting the right parts.It's a '52 plate V6 Elite with vented disks and the pins and springs on all the listed kits, Bendix, Mintes and a-n-other i can't recall, have pisn almost 2 cm too short and the spring 1 cm too narrow. They are even speaking to the technical departments who are adamant that the parts/kit numbers are correct for the car - but they are far too short to bridge the caliper gap.

The old pins are ok(ish) but the springs have disintegrated. I know they are only anti rattle but I like to do a job properly. The GM pins are £5 each and the springs almost £7  so £35 is a bit steep.

Anyone had a similar problem?

+1  Been there also, once had to put back old pins and what was left of the springs because "no one" had the correct parts for vented rears available.

Thanks.    I’ll try to get the part number from him – I have paid for the kit already and returned it so easier for me for them to source if they have the number.

The pins will likely be OK for the life of the car, so just replace the anti-rattle springs
