Just to add to our woes, this code along with an incorrect RPM signal code was read off our charity banger Omega.

Any ideas? It starts fine, so is it something we need to worry about?

As for the incorrect RPM, I guess this is what's limiting it to 4500 rpm? A new cam sensor didn't solve it, and  others have suggested it should be the Crank sensor...  

So - as usual - all ideas greatfully received

Immobilser will be an old code - its one of the few that never deletes itself.

I really have to get to the bottom of the HG yes or no first, before worrying about the other codes :|

19 - Incorrect RPM signal - sensor fubar
31 - No RPM signal - engine not running

a 19 will do all sorts of strange things.

So that's the Crank not the cam sensor then - arse!

OK, once the HG issue is sorted - one way or t'other - we'll move on the next!

Think you'd probably be better worrying about the crank sensor first as you might find once that's fixed everything is all good.  As mentioned earlier the crank sensor can bring all sorts of strange and nasty symptoms.

Well, there is apparently a coolant leak someplace. Not HBV or hoses etc...  :|

Anyways, thanks for the info all. I'll hopefully get it sorted out and we can be on our way!

Incorrect RPM .....do you have the code?

The immobiliser is often a side affect of crank sensor failure.

Don't have the code, that's just what was quoted to me.
Seems it's the crank sensor that needs changing and we can go from there...

Will the crank sensor from a 98 3.0 Omega be ok to put into a 95 Omega?? If so will have a look at how to get it out if you like???

We dont recommend using 2nd hand crank sensors
