General Car Chat / Re: remember vauxhall cresta,s
« on: 18 July 2016, 20:06:16 »
I had a Ventora back in 73, bought it just before they started issuing fuel coupons because of the shortage, never did get to use them.
In an attempt to increase MPG I fitted a 36/36 DCD Weber, did nothing for the fuel consumption but the sound was awesome.

Omega General Help / End of the line
« on: 16 July 2016, 09:49:09 »
Well I've reached the end of the line with my Omega, it's going to have to go.
Probably going to put it on ebay.
The tin worm is taking over & on top of other bits that need attention I don't feel like throwing any more cash at it.
Unfortunately there is no chance of finding a much newer one so time to move on to something different.
I've really enjoyed the car over the last eight years & it has been very reliable, only let me down once.
Thanks for all the help & advice I've had over the years.

Omega General Help / Centre console
« on: 12 February 2016, 22:21:01 »
How easy is it to remove the top silver part of the centre console around the gear lever?
Mine is badly marked & repainting or vinyl wrapping it seems to be the best option.

Omega General Help / Re: Wet Carpet, not scuttle or matrix
« on: 09 February 2016, 10:29:58 »
Thanks Ian, yes that's leaking at the same place on mine, I guess it will a problem on quite a few migs, not easy to locate though.
The difficulty in getting the sound deadening pad out is a pain but it's never going to dry out in situ.

My wife's C 3 has had both front springs break, oddly enough both broke while the car was on the drive overnight.

Don't they have a steel spacer that goes right through the rubber bushes, I tightened mine till they locked up.
Looks about the same as yours though.

Around £35-40 for a new tank
Isn't the sensor available alone?

Omega General Help / Low coolant
« on: 27 September 2015, 18:16:18 »
The Low coolant warning has come up on the display, water level still at maximum.
I guess the sensor in the header tank has failed, anyone any idea how much one of those is?

We've just had a shower of fairly heavy rain, on first inspection nothing had got in to the car.
After less than a mile home there is a clear trail of water emanating from the LH side of the heater duct under the passenger seat.
As the intake is clear with no rubber valve at the bottom how on earth can it get into the heater ducts?
