Title: 2006 head unit
Post by: Darth Loo-knee on 14 June 2010, 00:30:49
when the volume is at either low to middle it performs fine, if you turn the volume up it starts jumping on both cd and radio.... Any ideas what the problem is, plus can it be repaired or not?
Cheers

Doesn't need soldering iron (though I think Countess Dundee will for something else), but does need some very small torx (sort of sizes used on mobile phones) if you have any.

Due to someone chucking a bloody great tank in the boot of my car, and Mrs TheBoy insisting on bringing the kitchen sink when we go camping, I doubt I'll be able to pack any tools :()

I've got a mini torx driver in my toolbox. I'll chuck it in my pocket before Friday.

Well we (TB & I) changed the head unit and yet on the way home the same was happening jumping etc... on both the radio & cd >:(

So I remember TB mentioning something about speakers, so I used the fade & balance which I found the drivers door speak jumped like mad whereas the others were fine....
So I am going to change the speaker and see how it goes :y

I hate electrics :D

That isn't in the word filter or it would have filtered it but if you're a good boy I'll show you how to beat the word filter.

It's a valuable disc you have there mate, there was a £10 bounty on it over the weekend which sounded like a good deal to me.
Pity some spoilsport kept his car locked. ;D ;D
