I bought one off ebay against the advice offered on here (as it had a USB connection)   I know I am stupid but at £20 I thought it was worth a shot!

Anyway when I plug it in and try to check the Airbag all it says is "The Unit OBD II: Pin 12", I click ok and it says something about the device not being connected. Is this the problem that some of you guys were talking about with USB??

I can send it back for a refund so won't lose anything!

General Discussion Area / MOT Failure!

Nothing major!!

Rear indicator bulbs not amber anymore so need replacing. Number plate light needs new bulb and nearside steering idler arm bush needs replacing.

I assume the bush is a fairly easy job so will do it myself unless someone tells me different.

The guy said that the car was in remarkably good condition considering its done 100k miles which cheered me up no end!!!

General Discussion Area / Cam and Crank Loctking

Right...........

Just bought the V6 Cam Belt DVD from OOF shop. Watched it through twice and feel confident that I can do the job myself now.

Couple of questions............does the cam locking kit and the crank locking kit come as one or are they 2 separate kits? Does the little tool for checking the timing come with the kit also?

Also is there anyone on this forum who will loan a kit to a member with less than 500 posts or do I have to post like mad before I can get my hands on one?? Obviously I would be willing to pay a deposit which could be returned once I return the kit.

General Discussion Area / I have come to my senses!!!!

Recently I had been thinking of getting rid of my 1998 MV6 manual in favour of a Range Rover.

The omega has been sat on the drive for weeks unused, the battery had gone flat, she wasn't clean and the list of jobs that need doing is endless.

However I sorted the battery out this morning and have just taken her for a spin to put some petrol in and some air in the tyres and remembered just how much fun the car is and what a pleasure it is to drive.

I am thinking that because so much work needs doing and because she has been sat there for so long I was just feeling a bit fed up.

However now I couldn't possibly think of getting rid and I just need to make a start on the long list of jobs!!!

Are they any good. Need to do Cam Belt and HBV and Wheel Bearing on my car so trying to find best place to buy parts.

Hi all

Thinking of selling my MV6 and getting a Mitsubishi FTO. Never driven an FTO and so have no idea how it compares with the Omega.

I love my Omega but it needs some work including Cambelt, Wheel Bearing and the exhaust manifold is blowing.
 
Has anyone ever driven an FTO. WHat are they like??

Any advice greatly appreciated. I realise that the opinions I get might be heavily biased but thought I would get as many opinions as possible.
