Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Sunshine roof not moving (2)
« on: 01 August 2008, 21:02:44 »
Another very simple thing to try is scrub the roof seal with soapy water. I left mine for a good while maybe nearly as long as yours and all that was wrong with it was that it was weathered into the roof ..... tight - a bit of soaking of the seal and it started to open - my sunroof indication lights have been working intermittently since I bought it 5 years ago and it hasn't affected it's performance.

When you try it with the switch can you feel or even hear it trying to work?

Edit: have just read your first post so ignore above!!!! :o

Maybe you're battery is giving a sign of low voltage - are you able to verify the voltage? Also it may be the switch under the bonnet acting up - you know the one in the middle to the right of the engine bay - Has it been hot/sunny by you today?

Solution !!!!!

There is a product that will be in stock around mid July that will allow the use af an MP3 player or Sat Nav to be used as an auxillery input on any head unit with a standard ISO plug (not sure about BOSE yet)

The device, with its own built in 4x15W amp will plug in line with the ISO speakers from the head unit and allow connection of anything with a 3.5mm jack plug, and will either mute the head unit for MP3 or just the front speakers for Navigation. Volume control will be via a small panel on the dash - very similar to the Parrot phone controls.

Anticipated rrp will be around £59.99 for the whole kit, and I`ll post full details when we get them.

 :y

Please, no more screwing about with the head unit internals?  :'(

Sparked quite a debate - will wait with baited breathe to see what this is all about before splashing out on a new system and having to flog my rear headrest TV's - plus save me a packet too looking at the RRP. Excellent :y

Thanks chaps, all advice very much appreciated. :y

Will probably look to upgrade the CCR 2006 to a DVD install type thing if SWIMBO lets me :D

cheers :y

Have an update for the CDR 2005 ipod jack socket - found here:

NB Mark thanks for the link to Kevins - can now look at how to manipulate the audio chip.

There are some PCB shots here:

Possibly has the same audio switch chip in it though.

Where are the details you have?

It's a 'How To' from another forum - which I no longer have the link to >:( so wary about posting as not sure of the protocol of posting someone elses work. I can email people though if they want it - just send me a pm :y

cheers

nb thanks for the link to Kevin Woods mod - need to read it first though ;)

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / CDR 2005 vs CCR2006 aux input
« on: 23 June 2008, 12:04:27 »
I have a decent 'how to' regarding the connection of a 3.5mm Jack socket to a CDR 2005 and am trying in earnest to find out (without taking my CCR 2006 out) if the circuit board layout is the same for the CCR 2006 internal board. Are they both Phillips? Any help much appreciated.

Cheers :y

Maybe a silly suggestion - but have you checked that the connectors are installed properly under the front seats? Tried moving your seats backwards and forwards? It happened to mine ages ago and was just a loose connection under the passenger seat.

Maybe unrelated - but worth a try.

I had similar problems to yours - I ended up getting connectors that can be piggy backed  - got mine from halfrauds - I then connected to the pos + and neg - of my sunroof - Though If I remember correctly the wiring was a bit bizarre with the black being positive and brown being Neg/Ground  . Follow Hilpers guide and will see you through :y

This would be better in the ICE section - but are you sure that a lead has not dislodged itself from the battery end - maybe a loose wire in the crimp - I assume the fuses have been checked and are ok.

btw would be beneficial for us if you could post what your car details are in your profile under your name.

Welcome to the forum :y

Maybe worth getting a long piece of wire and connect from battery direct to holder and see if that works - it'll narrow it down a bit - if it works - might be a temp measure to wire direct from the rear cluster just to get you through the MOT :y

Would be better posted in the ICE section - but as far as I am aware - I have always just pushed the tools in and push them both at he same time away from the centre of the unit.

You have also got the aerial and speaker socket to disengage so sometimes it can be a little testing. use a butter knife - works for me.
