Thanks, I'm away at the moment and so couldn't have checked.  :y

Aye & it's been a bloody good car too  :y

Only one cambelt kit change?  2nd one well overdue ;)
I understood previously that it was every 60K, although I now believe that 40K is the new 'Spec.'. I Appreciate they have an age limitation too - that I now understand is every 4 years... amazing how time flies.  I'll obviously take that into account on the price.

I have used 99',octane, shell super and Bp super, no noticeable improvement in mpg whatsoever, upon stripping an engine that had spent most of its life run on super 99, the combustion chambers and exhaust tracts and pistons were very clean,
You just get a better burn, which means bit more power, not very detectable unless its on a dyno or rolling rd.
is it worth the 8/10p a litre more,
I personally think not

Cars for Sale & wanted / For Sale: 2003 2.6 Elite Estate Silver
« on: 16 July 2015, 21:19:11 »
Registered 10/9/03
Vauxhall 1st owner then 1 person before me
I bought it on 3/3/07 @ c. 29,056 miles.
This is my 3rd omega and I love them.  I sought this car out in ‘07 as I wanted to buy one of the last Elite estates of the line.  I found it on Auto Trader through their useful saved search facility.
Current mileage 103,608 although I’m using it on occasions, so it‘ll rise a little until sold.
I’ve bowed to pressure from the wife and bought an MPV and so unfortunately I now need to sell.
Runs great, no knocks or bangs.  Gearbox changes smoothly & Sport/Snow modes work as they should.
No tow bar so never worked hard.
Never been smoked in.
Original (I assume) First Aid/Emergency kit
I’m an Advanced Driver so stick to the limits, and get 32+ mpg on motorway runs.
Full Service History: First 6 at Vauxhall Main Dealers & the rest with the same independent (ex. Vauxhall) mechanic.

Next MOT due Sept 10th
Only Vauxhall parts ever fitted to the best of my knowledge
Radio/Cassette/CD player CCR2006 with Bose Custom speakers – all works fine although I’ve never used the CD player as I connect my iPhone through the Cassette player
Velour interior in good condition
Bluetooth Mobile Handsfree car kit fitted (Nokia CK-1W) which interrupts & plays through the stereo’s speakers. Comes with user manuals
2 keys
Heated seats, mirrors & rear window work fine as does dipping rear view mirror
Sun roof, electric windows & headlamp washers works fine
Has luggage guard
Air con is cool.
Will come with all paperwork (incl. MOT certificates back to 2006), Owners manual, Quick Reference Guide, Audio manual, Service book, receipts, original 2003 dealer brochure (edition 2) which has a wealth of information in it, even though it’s not pristine.
Vauxhall Locking wheel nuts
Spare tyre used on 3 occasions only.
Parts
14/9/07 OSF Central Locking Motor (Vauxhall) with receipt
29/8/08 OSF Door check strap (Vauxhall) with receipt
10/9/10 Heater Control Valve (Vauxhall) with receipt
July ’10 New Cambelt (@ 63,220 miles)
7/1/11 Battery
23/8/11 New Front Discs & Pads
23/8/11 New Rear shock absorbers
25/11/13 Centre & Rear exhaust
20/6/15 New (budget) front tyre due to recent puncture
The rear tyres are nearing replacement time, but they are above the tread depth indicators

What’s wrong with it ?
Some age related scratches.
Wheels have a few scuff marks and the lacquer is peeling in places
Power Sounder removed as the 2 small batteries were end of life – as per the suggestion on the Omega Forum. I couldn’t find the replacement batteries so I’ve not re-fitted as yet.  Parts will go with the car.
Parking sensors don’t work (hence the slight ding on the rear bumper !)
External temperature gauge doesn’t work
Front Fog lights don’t work – I have second hand parts & plan to fix them before selling
Water Coolant expansion tank low water sensor has recently given up - I have a second hand one that I plan to fix before selling
Climate Control doesn’t work – I understand it’ll be the hedgehog but haven’t got round to replacing it yet.  It’s been like this for c. 9 months and I have to say it’s not a hardship.

Overall it’s a pretty good car that I’d rather not sell.  It always starts first time and I have no hesitation driving it long journeys – we’ve been on many holidays to central & southern France without any concerns.
It does have the odd gremlin creeping in, but I think for it’s age it’s been well looked after and in good condition for a 12 year old car.
Having said that I do need to sell and would like £1,500, but will of course listen to offers.
I want it to go to a good home with someone who’ll continue to look after it. I’ve tried to be as honest as I can about the car, but if you want other pictures or have further questions, please do get in touch.
Hopefully my pictures will appear here...

Phil

Quote "Remember, these changes won’t apply to your current car – only to new cars registered from April 2017" I guess that means no change for us

From memory I've seen somewhere details of the new rules for 'old' cars - I'll see if I can find them.

I see you mention the 2.5 & 3.0 engines a lot... do you have any view on re-chips for the 2.6 ?

General Car Chat / Re: 3.2 with DVD screens in headrests
« on: 12 July 2015, 10:54:35 »
Screens look well fitted, although I would be tempted to have a close look because someone on ABS bought a car with a similar setup, when they took a screen out to replace it they found the frame was mounted with inch long screws that obviously would come straight through the headrest if you were in an accident.  :o
Ouch !
