The only loans I've ever had are student (government) and mortgage, I intend to avoid any others, if I can.

I have a credit card, but that's paid off in full every month. But they offer an ever increasing stupid credit limit.

It's not free money, you are locked in. Bank loans have most freedom I guess, but car HP for example are really bad way to buy.

Best to plan ahead, I'm saving into number of share save schemes. When these mature, that's my pot for new cars. Buy cash, buy only what you can afford with money you have, not what you can borrow.
I'm with you

Omega General Help / Re: Tyre choice

Which Kuhmos?

I find the KU31s on the 2.2 excellent for my needs  :)

I've got Nexens on the 3.2, terrible tyre no grip dry or wet so easy to light up the rears
I had Kumhos all round and had a sidewall blowout after less than a year. I replaced it and thought no more. I then had a puncture repaired on another and inspection of the sidewalls showed they were not symmetric such that the tyre had to be scrapped. Looking at the other tyres more closely they were the same and after a long delay Kumhos admitted fault claiming a dodgy batch. Never again. As stated elsewhere, you get what you pay for.

Useful feedback and then some comical banter... Which LPG installer would anyone recommend ?

Do you have a planned completion date or is it a project for life ?  ;)

Interesting debate... I think I'd go back to black (as Amy Winehouse used to say) given the choice

From what I remember you plug the thing into your port and it downloads a copy of your ecu mapping, you then email that back to SC, who pick one of the predetermined adjusted maps (dependant on your original), and email it back to you, and you upload to your ECU.
You always have the original map on the handset just in case you should ever want to revert back.
If you find the new map either too harsh or not mad enough you can contact them and they will give you another map, either less or more practical.

This is no individual map service, but are one of the better generic map sellers!

Very interesting, thanks

Omega General Help / Tyre choice

I've used Pirelli, Michelin & Dunlop successfully on my Omegas but suffered with Kumhos I was recommended a couple of years ago (I'd never touch them again) by my local eTyres fitter. What would folks recommend for reasonable wear & performance ?

Omega General Help / LPG upgrade
« on: 25 June 2015, 00:23:46 »
Out of interest, does an LPG upgrade give any improvement in MPG, or is it simply the case that the fuel is cheaper (not forgetting that the tank and LPG add weight to the car).
Thanks

Rotate to near vertical climb out is very impressive... The 757 with a pair of late RB211s will perform the same trick with equal ease.

Only problem is that at that point, if one engine shuts down there is only time for one outcome... ::)

At least during normal take off the aircraft is relatively stable, thereby giving options to the crew...

That said the display crew would probably push the nose over and level the aircraft whislt attempting a restart :-\

This Thomson 757 experienced a bird-strike on climb out and the crew managed...bloody well, actually!

How does this bluefin work... Does it remap & then get unplugged or do you leave it plugged in to enable you to fiddle about as you're running ?

+1

Never see or heard of this set up. Always wanting to learn tho  :)
Anyone care to shed some light for those of us not in the know ?

Removed the power sounder and sealed the scuttle.  Power sounder wouldnt die though bucket of water with a brick on top and it still carried on for 10 minutes chirping away >:(
I could never find a supplier for Power Sounder batteries, has anyone else ?
