If your going on a long run and can afford it, stick some Super Unleaded in there, you should get a tad more mpg or worse case it will give the fuel system a clean.

If your a Shell Drivers Club fan, there currently doing a Super Unleaded promotion at the moment, fill up more than 4 times of the stuff (min fill 20 litres each one) and you get an extra 1000 points on top of your Drivers Card.

IME the 4 pots respond well to the higher octane fuels, and the V6 doesn't.  Must be something to do with the way the ECU adapts.

I have used 99',octane, shell super and Bp super, no noticeable improvement in mpg whatsoever, upon stripping an engine that had spent most of its life run on super 99, the combustion chambers and exhaust tracts and pistons were very clean,
You just get a better burn, which means bit more power,not very detectable unless its on a dyno or rolling rd.
 is it worth the 8/10p a litre more,

I get the best results from Tesco's Finest ®  But this engine was designed for >98 octane.

I find Tesco Fuel to be consistently good.  Esso, per chance?

I find it makes the engine more resposive, and pressing on requires a bit less effort, but that in turn leads to using more throttle more of the time... the noise of the 3.2 as the revs climb is addictive

The extra mpg paid for itself in my 1.4 106 XSi which I used to rag the living daylights out of... the differences in performance in the Omega will obviously be less noticeable as it weighs almost three times as much

Because I only use bike for commuting these days, 95 goes in.

The times I used ultimate or similar, I can really feel the difference. Much more pick up and go, smoother too as mentioned above.

Better on fuel too, although not enough to justify the extra cost. So it only goes in on tours or fun rides
