A working AC is a MUST have here in the subtropical southwest of Germany. Some years ago i stood on the A8 in a traffic jam south of Karlsruhe. 40°C outside and the AC did not work.

Never again.....

Last week i  changed the timing belt with at my 4 pott limousine. Only 5.000 miles on the counter, but 5 years old.

A new cat and new wheels are waiting for assembling.

MOT is in July, but everything else is OK, i did a great revision two years ago. No welding needed!

Actually it is too hot to work on the cars. I should look after the AC next week....

April goes summer! 5 days in a row with maximum temperature higher than 25°C. Today 30°C.

This April average temperature will reach an all time high. At the present moment (22th) the actual value is 15°C at the Rhine Main area. That is early June level.

Omega went lakeside today.... ;D

Over Eastern I replaced timing belt, water pump ect.

Removed the camshafts and replaced the hydros.

Engine is running great again.

Yesterday I found a MV6 on a scrape yard. Some Irmscher parts for very, very low budget.  :)

Some parts I bought....

Oh ronnyd...

a TD 320 is fine, but i got back a Baby Blue to restore. It based on the TD 320 but the body is a complete own construction. I did 50 tables 10 years ago and one comes back to me. It is one of only two painted in Porsche Seal Grey. Some parts are missing / damaged but nothing is impossible...

The picture was taken something around 2008....

This winter end is outstanding!

Normally on the northern hemisphere we have strong western winds in the upper stratosphere, depending on a strong polar area of low pressure 30 miles above ground with temperatures about -70°C.
Mid February the normal situation changed completely.  Temperature rises exorbitant in the stratosphere. 0° C in 30 miles high. Wow, a major warming. An area of high pressure established in the upper stratosphere. So the northern hemisphere atmospheric circulation clanged completely from west  to east. It took one week to transform this situation into the lower atmospheric layers.

Now we have very high pressure (up to 1060 hPa) from Greenland over the northern Atlantic and Scandinavia to northwest Russia. Low pressure  is over the Azores, Biscaya and the Mediterranean.

That causes strong cold eastern winds in northern parts of Europe.

Over warm water (North Sea, Baltic Sea) this cold wind take much moisture from the ocean, so western counties (Sweden, Denmark,  northern Germany, England and Ireland) will get very much snow.

Just a dream Lizzy

Some fine years, i was big in Japan...but the Asian Financial Crises 2008 destroyed everything. I lost it all. But it is never to late to restart.

Hi Lizzy

Thorens was always a dream of mine. In the late 70s i saw the Thorens Reference on the Berlin "Funkausstellung" as a young boy.

It was clear, I can never afford such a machine. So 30 years have to go through the land to meet A.J Van den Hul on Frankfurt High End Show. He said you can never realize your ideas. I can do it, i said. Next year, this place he said.

So my Reference was born. I Did it.

Hi Bigron

A good equipment does not produce any noise in the background. The best product i ever used to clean records is the Lorrycraft machine from England. Thanx to Terry and Nigel

I did the set up of the turntable yesterday and i was very surprised that the 30 year old belt works perfect. But there was a little noise from the motor bearings. But i knew the Berger motors...they are undestroyable. So i decided to start a 12h burn in run to remove the dust of the years. The turntable is now running absolutely calm. Also everything else runs perfect.

Hi Lizzy

What is your story about Thorens? Mine is very special long....

Hi ronnyd

I am a little splitted these days. There are still serious problems with my wife's health. She is home again, but not in stable condition. I do my very best to help her in any way, but sometimes it is a very hard job for both of us.

The other side looks brighter. The last months gave me some commercial success, so i can think about some private investigations. A classic Thorens, a own garage (better two) and a MV6. Regarding the MV6 i think the Vauxhalls are very interesting, because of the prices in UK. I prefer an early model (late 93/ early 94) because I decided to get a H (historic) licence as soon as possible. A late 93 MV6 is able to get a German H-licence in autumn 2023. So, maybe i need some assistance later this year. I never bought a car in the UK....

Found a very nice classic turntable. A Thorens TD 320 MK III. 30 years old.

Not unusual....

BUT THE TABLE IS BRAND NEW IN HIS ORIGINAL BOX. NEVER USED!

The price was unbelievable low. The TD 320 comes with a Stanton epoch II cartridge, factory assembling...

I am happy....
