Its turn is coming soonish. Service, cambelt, aux. belt, rear donut bushes, and some other stuff.... unless I come across a CL500 or Boxster that takes my fancy in the meantime.
you don't want none of that German rubbish

Just checked tyre pressures on both of them + all oils screenwash etc not getting much use at present as I am on 12 weeks isolation , so both tucked up away in the garage nice & shiny.

Found a bloody great split on the inside wall of the front tyre on the big German when carrying out routine checks. Luckily I never drive fast as it could have got messy.   ::)
That's another £200 down the shitter. Local tyre place is closed due to the virus so it can sit on the drive until they re-open, or I find an alternative tyre place. Not in any hurry though as I've got the other German as a spare car if I need to go anywhere. Although in saying that, I don't really need/want to go anywhere during the lockdown.

I also found out that the Germans like to 'carpet' the underside of their cars from front to back. Each section overlaps the next one for aerodynamics and you can't see shit for all of the covers. It's a sea of carpet covered plastic. You lay underneath and it's like looking at the underside of a Dinky toy.  I even had to buy an adapter for my trolley jack so that it fits in the jacking points, as there is literally nowhere to put the jack pad or axle stands without removing covers.
I get the impression that they're trying to deter the DIY enthusiast.   ::)

Started stripping it. Partly out of curiosity, and partly because I can. It's had a complete interior change at some point, which is a surprise... They left a foot square of the original carpet under the centre console.

Not sure if I will replace it with another or simply anything else...
