Omega General Help / door check strap thingy
« on: 02 March 2008, 18:03:51 »
Just opened my drivers door to get out, heard a small 'crack', then noticed that two of the four spot welds have failed on the small square anchor point for the check strap. Is this repairable and how, as the other two welds are not long for this world!

Omega General Help / headlamp aim
« on: 24 February 2008, 10:49:54 »
I notice in the drivers handbook you can change the aim of the headlights for driving on the continent. (facelift model). Has anybody done this, it looks quite easy in the book but is it really?

Well that time has come, I've been a regular follower of this site for quite some time now, and now its time to come out... ;)
I'm on my third omega now since 1997, a 52 2.6 CDX and I still love them. My Other cars are a E30 BMW 325i convertible which is 19 years young now, and another Omega, a 2.5 98 CD which is SORNed at the moment. Anyhoo, the Omega gives me the sensible drive while the BM gives me the thrill ride that I need so often! Once I figure out how to post a pic I will share my pride and joy with all.
Helloooooooooooo everybody. :D

Also need the rubber boot for it that goes on the other end.
(I wonder if a kind mod would move this for me ;))

Cars for Sale & wanted / 2.5 V6 CD 1998 metallic green
« on: 17 July 2010, 12:11:39 »
I have given up! I have had the car for nine years. The car is stripped down to the 'V'. I was about to put in a new oil cooler top plate. It has a new water pump, and a new HBV. There is no heater matrix in it, bought one but it don't fit! Just this week the car was a runner, wery well i might add. Slight rust on rear arches, usual rust on rear doors. No tax or test. Interior is black velour, immaculate. New front shock absorbers, new front wheel bearings, two new front tyres, two nearly new rears. Car will need recovering or put it back together yourself and drive it away. Scrap money, £150. Three miles from Dartford Crossing, Essex side.

General Discussion Area / Oofers decide please......

Ok, about six or seven months ago I retired my S reg 2.5 CD. It failed its MOT quite badly so I went and bought a newer one. A couple of weeks later my daughters car got written off so being the ever faithfull dad I spent seven hundred pounds getting the Omega through the MOT and handed it over to her and her family. During that time the HBV started acting up so I told them to keep a good check on the water, but, since then the water pump has developed a severe leak, and now the old girl is parked up once again. The question is do I persevere with it or do I scrap it?
Mechanically it's superb with all the major Omega problems already sorted such as oil cooler and all new suspension, but cosmetically it's challenged, the usual rust around the arches and doors and bits of trim now peeling off. If I were to start spending money on it I would go the whole hog and give it a complete makeover with body kit ect, but the only thing putting me off is new arches, is it worth it? Sorry for waffling.

Is there a reason why I can't post on the for sale section?

Cheers.
