I agree that our voting system needs an overhaul but I think PR  would be a disaster (as shown by the latest debacle)
I think it would make sense to have two rounds of voting with only the top two candidates going through to a run off. It would be a bit convoluted to start with but I think would result in a fairer outcome.

I think it needs long and careful consideration, its too important to rush or be horse traded by intellectual pygmies like Clegg.
Straightforward PR would result in every election turning out like this one has.
