OIL THREAD - the LAST one
« on: 16 May 2007, 17:29:59 »

I thought it would be best to just have one oil thread to do away with the others. This is it! Question is which oil is best, Full or Semi-synthetic? It really doesn't matter. I know what I use and what most of the clan use, but it actually doesn't matter a hoot.

What IS important is to change the oil regularly. Filters are only £3 or so and 5.75 litres of whichever oil you like will never cost more than £30 a can, no matter what you go for. It is the regular changing of these that will keep your engine as sweet as the day it was made.

So, what is regular? Every 5k will keep the engine in premium condition. Every 10k or 12 months, whichever is sooner is really the limit.

If you buy a car, change the oil and filter immediately, then again 1000 miles later and again another 1000 miles after that unless the second lot is as clean as it went in.

So, which oil? Whatever you like. Just change it regularly.

Now, NO REPLIES TO THIS THREAD PLEASE.
