Stunning Cars Albs and Lizzie. :y
What front and rear springs do you have on your car Albs?
-
Common as muck in that colour though ;D ;D

Plod springs and dampers on the front. Sachs standard spec springs, rather than soft elite, and recently fitted new sachs dampers, on the rear.

I only ask because it looks lower than normal on the back - not massively, looks like my car with MV6 LSC rear springs.
-
I see what you mean Andy, but suspect that it's a combo action of the plod front springs and a load in the boot... That said the offside rear seems lower than the other side, so could simply be the road surface... :-\
Very shiny though 8)
-
Not a lot of weight in the boot tbh, but I can see what you mean. Will do a bit of investigation in the near future.
-
Been thinking about this a bit more. There is a spare battery in the boot, the detachable towbar, and a few other sundry bits & pieces.
I suppose that adds up to a few kilos, but I still don't think it should be enough to make it sit down a bit at the rear.
The piece of road is quite flat by the way.
Rear shocks are a couple of weeks old and rear springs are about 3 years old. I inspected the springs and everything else at the rear when I fitted the dampers and everything appeared to be fine.
Next time I have it on a flat piece of road I will measure ride heights on all four corners and see whats what.

It could just be my eyesight. Also I have three cars with three different setups so I can't really remember what standard ride height should look like!
-
Visually that seems to sit about the same level as mine, which has 1 year old Sachs rears shocks and springs, although mine has around 150kg of wooden samples in bags in the boot. :o
Might be worth having another look as you say as from memory the measurements from ground to centre of bottom of arch bodywork is around 665mm as std

670mm front and rear to centre of the wheel arch from memory ;)

Will check. Out of curiousity as much as anything else. I doubt theres anything seriously amiss, but you never know. :y

Im sure there isnt it just the pictures and "our critical viewing " of things.....scrubs up nicely well done Albs

Albs wouldn't get that close to a crematorium, frighten the living shite out of him ;D
-
Yep...great condition and a great colour.
I sometimes wonder if Mr Bitz actually does any work.....at work. ::)

No, why ? ;D
I work here.
https://www.cmlmicroplc.com/contact-us/
Set in 27 acres of its own private parkland. A much nicer place to be than the concrete flooring works I spent the previous 20 years at, or the foundry I spent 9 years at before that. :)
I spend a lot of time watching the badgers, muntjac deer, foxes, hares, pheasants and wabbits on the security monitors.
If there is ever a food shortage, I wont go hungry. ;)

No fear of the Crem here Steve. I could fall off my perch tomorrow and I couldnt give a toss tbh. It comes to us all at some point so why worry about it. Told the family when it happens, send my carcass to be burnt and then scatter it somewhere if you want to, but ffs dont waste money on a funeral. :)

Very little tbh. I was told when offered the job " we need a presence, a bum in a chair". And I have been doing just that for 11 1/2 years now. Millions of pounds worth of gear here, and if no-one is on the premises it isnt insured so someone has to be here out of working hours 365 days of the year. The well equipped workshop has to be used. It would be rude not to. :)
Suits me just fine at this stage in my life. In fact, Im hoping to keep doing it until Im 70, but we shall see. ;)
-
Your place of work looks like a secret government facility where they practice illegal genetic experiments on unsuspecting staff members.
You may not work very hard but they have plans for you. ::) ::) ;)
-
They can experiment all they want, as long as they pay me enough dosh. Its actually the most laid back relaxed place I have ever worked in my life tbh, and they look after employees pretty well, so I cant complain. They gave me a £250 bonus today for being brave enough to keep turning up for work during these terribly difficult times. :)
Getting back to my Omega. As you like it so much, if you twist my arm enough and throw in some cash as well I might be tempted to do a swap for your old Jaaaaaaaaag. :y
-
You could ask for a transfer to the Sheffield site and be closer to me :-*
-
I would do, but they shut it down recently. Bought out a company in Cambridge to replace Sheffield apparently. :-*

Thankyou very much Luiz.
Lovely colour, and looks great in the sun, which somehow, pictures don't capture very well.
-
Another 3 1/2 years on. Still got it and still looking ok. Although not quite as polished and shiny as the previous pics.
Just short of 200,000 miles on the clock now and still drives very nicely.
These were taken while staying at Walton on the Naze, to babysit brother in laws house and georgous 987.2 Porsche, a couple of weeks ago.
Pics arent that good actually. Light was starting to go.
