Omega General Help / Re: Another air con question
« on: 31 May 2017, 22:54:46 »
The air con on my Elite doesn't work,it never has in my ownership-coming up 6yrs now-so can I just set to and remove all the gubbins and sling it or would I have to get it vacced down or whatever it is that's done to empty it?I know if I removed it all I'd need a shorter[non air con]auxiliary belt.

Depends why it's not working, but if it has any gas in it needs to be removed properly. You might find it's a cheap easy fix and the Omega climate system is appalling without working aircon. How do you keep the windows demisted?

Just for a counter view (and yes I am fussy) - mine ended up back on 2 mid box system which I found sounded much better and is the original design.

Now it's £5,400

He's added a few more shit quality low res photos, must knock the value up another £1400!

Not even a colour screen like mine!

Not even a decent black and white screen, seems to be just a MID!

We chatted about this recently and the conclusion was that you're safer in a modern hatch than an old tank like a Volvo 940.  ;)

Best get out and buy Mrs Rog a Smart car!  :y  ;D

You can't change the laws of physics if you crash 2 movable objects together (not what crash tests do) the heavier one will continue on its path to a much greater degree than the lighter causing a more viloent change of velocity and direction for those in the lighter. Clearly won't help you if the passenger cell in the heavier disintegrates though.

Omega General Help / Re: Windscreen rubber surround loose
« on: 24 March 2017, 07:16:18 »
Nope. Nope and nope.

The screen has a frame fitted to it. Prior to fitting the screen, the frame is fitted, followed by the two rubber trims. The screen is then fitted.

There are two possible reasons why your trim is lifting...

1. The frame has been reused and the clips are broken.
2. A cheap pattern frame has been fitted, no pun intended.

In either case if the screen isn't spot on in the aperture then it won't fit properly and your picture is the result.

Exactly that - I've had no trim on mine for months since Autoglass replaced my screen as it simply won't stay and they don't care.  >:( In my case it's option 2.

The pump under the expansion tank, is part of the winter pack, and operates, when the ignition is off, and I think re-circ is pressed,, it opereates for about 5 mins in the cabin warm, too stop passenger getting cold, when you take keys out engine off.

The problem is that is not what actually happens all the time - sometime it needs a chat with Tech2 to enable that feature  :y

General Car Chat / Re: Facelift mig headlamps
« on: 14 March 2017, 15:32:59 »
So my options for brand new is...

Fit a set of atp and swap them over at mot time. Or
Buy atp and shove mine in the oven to just swap over lenses. Or
Buy genuine. Or
Source a breaker but no guarantee on quality.

Thats not really an option as you will blind everyone in-between MOT's!

Morning guys. So I want a brand new set of head lamps for the omega but am struggling to find anything anywhere (always a concern when eBay can't find what u want lol). All the factors I've called don't have a listing and as said can't find them on eBay.

Where can I source these?

Ps I've tried everything on my existing ones with no joy. So fancy some new ones 👍

GM will supply them if you are feeling affluent or they do come up on ebay periodically. Got a new drivers side Hella on mine, waiting for a passenger to come up!

General Discussion Area / Re: Feral kids
« on: 11 March 2017, 21:30:06 »
My sister is a teacher. Apparently it is no longer legal to give gobby kids a good hiding, which happened in my day.

We try to 'reason' with them she tells me. This is probably quite a good approach with 'reasonable kids' but it won't work with feral kids.

Its all about 'helping them to make good choices'   :P
