Anybody find something odd about this?….

How so?

Don't see any jet wash or heat dissipation from the engines .
-
Look closer.
Also, they don't run at anything like the temperature of modern jets.
Don't forget that the image will be distorted by distance and heat shimmer between the camera and the aircraft. ;)

Yes that’s what I noticed not a single blade of grass is moving
-
I've seen it fly twice, so either I'm in on he conspiracy or you're all making something out of nothing. Pretty sure it's a replica owned by EADS/Airbus and operates from their Manching factory site just north of Munich. I also believe it's not using the original engines - it's using American J85's more commonly used on cold war small jet fighters. Doesn't fly much and usually has the national insignia and Swass Stika symbols covered due to German laws about Nazi symbols.

I appreciate that Malcolm and love the aircraft but why is the grass not being disturbed? It’s puzzling me👀🤔

Parallax. The camera is filming from about 30 degrees off the nose. The red/white fire hydrant? in the background is level with the left hand edge of the tarmac/concrete, so the jet efflux would be well to the right of it (as we look). We only get one view of the shrubbery directly behind it (at about 2:00), and it appears the jet is about 20m from the edge of the tarmac, and so probably 25-30m from the taller grass. You don't need much puff to get a lightweight fighter moving (two people could probably push it) so the engines are only revved up to just above idle to get it moving.
If the engines had been running at full chat the grass and trees would be moving in the jet blast. But at idle power it would be un-noticeable. You can often get that close behind jets at airshows, and you don't really notice the jet thrust above the noise and smell of burnt kerosene .

Thanks👍 It needs a pair of P&W J58 that will move the shrubs😂

Lovely picture which I’m sure you’ve seen before😎

This one always makes me chuckle - and it's a J85.

Ha ha, decided to go it alone :y

I have always liked the look of those aircraft, but thank God, Hitler was not able to put enough in the air due to lack of fuel, spare parts, and the pilots to fly them, along with the maniacs initial hesitation to go all out for jet technology.
If they had been able to be used in 1943 WW2 just may have ended very differently, or at least been lengthened by years! :o :o
;)

If they'd had the V2 rockets at the start of the war , things would have been different

Indeed!! Part of the number of if’s, buts, and maybe’s of WW2 that could well have produced a very different outcome ;)

No ifs or buts…. They picked a fight they didn’t want with the wrong country, after that their plans went tits up👍 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧 No matter what they done they were doomed from that point We will never surrender 👍👍👍👍

As per usual Britain was found wanting.Frank Whittle came up with the jet engine but it was the Germans who took up with the ball and ran with it while we fumbled about. Our biggest ally was Hitler who believed only he knew how to prosecute the war and made the huge mistake of starting a war on two fronts when he went for Russia[at the wrong time of year].
-
Whittle was a genius, but never got the support or acclaim he deserved☹️ And.. once again the powers that be fkd it up.

Yes, all true. Britain even invented the tank, that the Nazis developed to it’s supreme Tiger’s that virtually ruled the battlefields when up against inferior, fairly mediocre, British and American fodder.
Thank God Hitler was a maniac who not only created war on two fronts, up against the mighty Soviets, but then declared war on the USA after Pearl Harbour. That was stuuuuuuuupiiiiiid!!! ::) ::) ::) ;)
No wonder when Churchill had the opportunity to take out Hitler in a special operation, he decided he would not as, you correctly say Baza, Hitler by then was a blessing to the Allies and was doing a splendid job in creating certain defeat for his forces. ;D

I honestly don't know. With three 500hp turbo diesels at full chat, you could run over a night club at 30knots and not even notice 8)

I think that could probably be said of this:

Looks like they are sending all of TB's ebay purchases on just one ship this time then ;D
