just watching the news now with pictures of empty streets around the towns !
these must be a joke or something!! .here in west yorkshire everything just as busy as ever. traffic home from work tonight just as busy and nothing seems any different. !

I live and work in SE London and the traffic is exactly the same as normal. Had to pop into Woolwich town centre at lunchtime (3 minute walk from work) and it was quieter, but only because Maccy D there is shut I suspect.

The fat, useless, blond idiot this side of the pond needs to go as well, now that he has served his purpose. He comes on telly, apologising for the severe lockdown and closure of schools, when there is hardly any lockdown at all. Just been reading about the JLR factory in Liverpool. Apparently, it's an essential business, so is staying open. Hundreds of workers under the same roof, making 'essential' goods. Because they are open, the workers say their kids should be allowed to attend school, some schools are accepting this, others not. JLR have told the workers who have problems getting childcare to take unpaid leave, no furlough available.
My wife was telling me last night that she knows of schools in Sheffield where 75% of the kids are in because virtually nothing has actually shut down. Meanwhile, Pike is telling parents who don't get 3-5 hours of online learning to complain to OFSTED.
So.....don't expect this virus to go away any time soon, because there is no lockdown and Johnson is, as usual, trying to pull the wool.

Just been having a quick tally of my closest neighbours. My wife went off to work at about 6:40, as usual. Next door to the left has also gone, he is an hgv driver. Next one, the lady works in the post office, so she'll be off soon. Then husband and wife, teacher and Co Op supermarket worker, both in.
To the right, retired man, he'll be staying in. A fella who works in a factory making doors, he goes out on his bike to work each day  :-\ I don't really know the houses after that, but you get the picture.
There is a small corner shop five doors down and it is as busy as ever with cars pulling up for papers, fags, red bull, whatever. No lockdown here, people have stopped listening.

there's no enforcement, the media have done their best to show people how to bypass the rules
shopping infrequently as possible is interpreted as go to the shop 5 times a day  :(

they tried to make an example of that Scottish MP bint who travelled after a positive test but that got lost with everything else going on   ::)

Our school has failed miserably, my lad is getting 6 hours a week of online lessons tops.....and they are shorter.

They have still failed to train the staff how to use Teams well (they did the square root of jack in the first five months), dumped all the kids in an assembly on the first day back after summer, have failed to do anything to police the distancing and one way system.

This school is so man hating left wing type, I am pretty much convinced they are failing to take the 'lets do as much as we can' attitude and adopting a 'bare minimum and score political pints for the union mentality'  >:( >:( >:(

there are thousands of used PC base units recycled ,plenty good enough to run educational software etc
core 2 duo,4 gig of ram ,onboard lan
PC's are far more robust than laptops ,easy to repair etc
plenty of IT professionals who could  set them up

importing laptops from China ,who gave us the Virus in the first place  >:( seems madness  ::)
probably wouldn't go down well with the students though as the older PCs won't run the latest games
which is what will happen if you give them all laptops  ;D
