Merc do this too .... it serves no use whatsoever to the used car buyer as he/she doesn't get to see the service history. If service history was important I'd want to see a book stamped up or preferably receipts/invoices.

BMW store it in the vehicle hard drive including things like brake fluid and coolant changes along with any recall work.

They give you a printed breakdown, but that's as much for budgeting purposes as anything else as the important stuff is permanently stored in the car.

Merc do this too .... it serves no use whatsoever to the used car buyer as he/she doesn't get to see the service history. If service history was important I'd want to see a book stamped up or preferably receipts/invoices.

I do get the job sheet and receipt with part numbers on.  :y  It also lists their findings in percentage of wear to brake pads/disc condition, tyres etc.  :y

I was surprised at just how much info the dealer can get from just the remote fob.  :y

Yeah, that was an eye opener. Service history, mileage, how many l of fuel was in it, the fact it's service was 497 miles overdue. To name just a few things.

Me too I wouldn't purchase a vehicle without visible documented history that I can hold in my hands & read .
