Washer fluid level sensor?
« on: 17 September 2021, 23:07:34 »

So since I got this car I always have to cancel the “Low Washer Fluid” error that comes up on my CID. I’ve tried a different sensor and it’s still doing the same. Is this a common fault? If so how do I repair?

I’ve done a quick search but getting no hits with washer fluid level used as the parameters of the search.

Thanks in advance,

Brian

It's quite difficult to fit it upside down ???

Have you checked the wiring?

Lol, yea it’s definitely not upside down. That said I did test it out of the water bottle every which way I could to see if it changes, which it didn’t.

As for the wiring, so far I’ve only checked it at the plug end of the sensor itself. I haven’t yet traced it further back. I also haven’t pulled out my volt meter either, just thought I would check with you guys first to see if there was a common or simple fix.

If you've been digging around the display plug, you may have nicked it. IIRC the sensor receives its signal from the display/BC.

It’s a Brown wire with a Yellow trace. The brown wire from the plug goes to ground... I would start there ;)

I haven’t been at the display just yet, waiting until I’ve all the speakers and stuff gathered first before I start ripping the car apart lol.  But thanks for that information, I’ll start with the ground wire as you’ve suggested.

Mine was doing this but it was leaking out the bottom seal so slowly emptying, just fashioned a seal I had for something else and replaced it.
